That has no relevance as you said how has this place become so insecure. It goes back much past this core and rightfully so.

But if you really want to get into this core then ONE FOR EIGHT with a couple of them being layups. We remain the joke of the league at a time when we were supposed to be competing for if not winning cups.
Majority of our losses have been ECF caliber. I admit the Habs and Jackets losses were embarrassing but my blame goes more towards management than the team on those. I'm not going to open that can of worms at the moment and start a meaningless war that's been over kill by now.

There is no chance this team is the joke of the league. That only exists in your head.

The maturity level should be there to separate this core from the other pile of garbage we've thrown out over the last 20 years. All 3 of our young stars are still in their prime too.

Maybe if a large portion of the fanbase wasn't wearing blinders and coddling them for any small success they have, MLSE's profits would take a hit and they would actually care about building a winner.
 While that's pretty funny, it has nothing to do with tonights game.

Leafs are heavily under fire this season and becoming write offs among the fan base. You're just salty I fired back at your post, so making yourself a victim who has to go up against coddlers now.

This has become a waste of time. Enjoy being insecure.

Guess we'll find out.

I just can't find it within myself to bet against these guys in the playoffs when they were making top contenders sweat in their baby years. One hot run is all they need to get a Cup. The cup doesn't count because it took 8 seasons to finally achieve this hot run?

Round 1 has become the conference finals. Blame whoever designed the format. As for the embarrassing years, Lightning got swept by the Jackets. Get over it already.

Maple Leafs projected lines Monday vs. New York Islanders

Knies – Matthews – Marner

Bertuzzi – Tavares – Nylander

Robertson – Domi – Gregor

McMann – Holmberg – Reaves

Rielly – Brodie

Benoit – McCabe

Giordano – Liljegren

Samsonov starts

It’s been nearly 60 years. Their bottom line is losing-proof, we should all be at peace with that, it’s not changing.

They do even better winning though.

I think you missed the original point - "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard."

If we had the better talent in six of those eight series, why did we lost them?

Sometimes you even lose and it doesn't have anything to do with talent or work ethic.

You can lose games and series by making poor decisions in areas of the ice or at certain times of a game that you can't get away with against good teams.

There was a scouting report posted on Easton Cowan over the weekend where they talked to someone in the Knights front office. They basically said the biggest thing they're trying to improve in his game is becoming more aware of what he can and can't do in certain situations and learning to become better at taking the low risk smart play than forcing something. I think we still unfortunately have alot of that in our playstyle where we try extremely high risk stuff at certain times of the game, in dangerous spots.

One more hour until Leafs hockey is back. I hope they come out flying and keep the foot on the gas and put together a strong second half. The goaltending should be much better.
Yeah the break did some good. Haven’t looked forward to a game in a while.
I read the Isles GDT, not one mention of ‘Pajama Boy’. Could they have finally gotten over it?

Scott Hartnell is a beauty.
Who is the hobo looking dude sitting in the chair by himself?

Wonder how many Leaf fans would leave Marner off Team Canada?
