If that's all it takes for the Pens to trade the 11th, SJ would just trade with Pitt themselves. Especially if Mrtka is available.

SJ would trade Dallas 1st 2025, Ott 2nd 2025, and Edm 2026 1st for Mrtka. Sharks can even take a cap dump back.

Those fans are morons. Leaving the draft with Schaefer is an absolute home run. Enough with the Hagens crap he’s only talked about because he’s from Long Island. He isn’t the best prospect in this draft and he will not be picked #1. Schaefer will be wearing orange and blue.

Sure he is, but he likely isnt going to be as good as Schaefer. There is a reason Schaefer is rated higher and has a higher ceiling.

Pens may get rangers pick. they have 3 thirds as well. Dubas has said he isn't interested in more picks. He wants young players who can grow with the team.

Pens need quality, not quantity. They already have more draft picks in the first 3 rounds over the next 3 years than any other team.

Bad enough they moved down 2 spots after the lotto.

Biggest need for Utah is a top 6 center. At 4 OA they will be able to draft a top C prospect.

Utah trades 4thOA to Islanders for Dobson

Islanders trade Dallas 1st, Ottawa 2nd, and Islanders 2nd to Pitt for 11thOA

Isles pick Misa with 2nd
Isles pick Hagens with 4th
Isles pick Mrtka with 11th.
SJ gets their star D-man
Utah gets a young established top line right handed D-man.
Pitt gets 3 draft picks to help with their rebuild.
Isles resign DeAngelo and give Boqvist a full year to show if he can become the highly touted puck moving D-man when he was drafted.

Eliminate the Sharks and Penguins from this proposal. All we need is Utah and the NYI

Do a Dobson+ for 4th overall+ type deal.

NYI ends up with Schaefer and hopefully Hagens if the Sharks/Hawks go Misa/Martone.

At #11? Ideally O'Brien slips. He might be my favorite C prospect in this draft, or 1A with Misa. Martin won't drop to 11 anymore, so the point is moot. McQueen might fall to us, and with our dearth of future centers we probably have to pull the trigger.

I don't see Misa, Hagens, Frondell or Desnoyers falling. I might keep the pick if Eklund is still available, too.

However, if the 7 centers, Schaefer, Martone and Eklund are all gone with the first 10 picks (worst-case scenario for the Pens), then I would look to trade down for sure.
