I think NYI fans are over valuing JT compared to top dmen
Your not getting a top dman and a top fwd for him
Your not getting a top dman and a top fwd for him
Isles not trading their franchise player, he's said multiple times that he wants to be and Islander for life. Guys like Tavares don't come around often, Only way it happens if someone offers something too good to be true. Galchenyuck sergachev scherbak 2 1st round picks. point is deal won't make sense for either team.
We have all the 18-20 year-olds we need, that's why. A trade of JT is to go after those PROVEN players in their early-mid 20's. JT does not get traded for FUTURES. He gets traded for a HOCKEY trade, not a FUTURES trade. Can't say it any clearer than that.
Wow, you have so many of that? Who are they? Bellows, Barzal, Beauvillier, Ho-Sang....who else? I love that it's as clear as you mention, but if only it would be true...I'd have less problems with that.
By the way, look at those names, look at your overall prospect likst that you have so many of, and tell me that Sergachev and even Juulsen wouldn't be on top of your prospects list, especially the D prospect list.
And again, I did mention Pacioretty and Gallagher, somehow though, it doesn't fit your early-mid 20's, some kind of rule that I'm not aware of, I guess Patch and Gally are past their prime, being at 24 and 28 years old.
The Islanders don't d this unless one of Sergachev or Galchenyuk is involved.
Fine, make it 18-22 to make you feel better . . .
Pulock and Pelech are 22
Sorokin is 21
Vande Sompel is 19
Soderstrom is 20
Wotherspoon is 19
Toews is the old guy at 23 in Bridgeport after his great year at Quinnipiac and is our best kept secret. He'll be up before the end of the season if injuries pile up or deadline moves are made.
Sorokin is a complete stud in the KHL at that age and the fact you didn't name him makes me wonder just how far your research actually went.
From Dobberprospects:
November 2016 - Ilya Sorokin - This may go down as one of the best third round picks in NHL history if the Islanders can get Sorokin in the net sometime in the future. As with any Russian player comes the "Russian factor" but I am sure the Islanders staff will do everything they can in the next year or two to get him signed. Sorokin attended Islanders development camp in July, and the reviews were outstanding. A traditional Russian goalie blessed with size, quickness, and great technical ability, this is a player who has starting goalie written all over him. Cut from the mold of Semyon Varlamov and Sergei Bobrovsky, if the Islanders can get Sorokin signed, this will be their goalie of the future. Arguably the most important and talented prospect in the Islanders system, if you are an owner of Sorokin in any keeper league you are sitting on a gold mine. If he comes to North America! May 23, 2016 – Ilya Sorokin had arguably the best season a goaltender has ever had in the KHL. He finished the regular season with a 1.06 GAA and a .953 save percentage in 28 games played. That is the second best save percentage ever posted in the KHL, and Sorokin did it as a 20 year old. While he split time in the regular season with former NHLer Viktor Fasth, Sorokin was given the starting job for the post season. He did not disappoint, posting a .945 save percentage. He led CSKA Moscow to Game 7 of the Gagarin Cup Finals, where they finally fell to Metallurg Magnitogorsk. Brent Craswell
Oh my god I missed one, shoot me. So great, you have a great prospect goalie. So I guess you don't need d-men prospects after all....
And if you think that any of the d prospects you named are better than Sergachev or even Juulsen, well that research didn't go so far too...
Thanks for the back-handed compliment
But I do think your team would deal Saad and Werenski for McDavid . . .
