PTO. So they unsure what he brings to the table ?
Of course not, they know what he brings.

There's a 23 man roster issue and injury issue. Martin ended playoffs hurt, let's see what he has.

I'd bet if we go through training camp healthy, he sticks around and practices but doesn't sign until there are more injuries. Say Engvall gets a broken ankle and Whalstrom breaks his shoulder for the 4th time, he'd be in.

You'd think Clutterbuck would get a PTO from someone. Maybe he just doesn't want to uproot himself and fam?

Wahlstrom might not even make it out of camp. Look at the cap situation. They’re over by about $900k.

Whally needs to get waived just to get the cap down to 88

then

if they sign Martin to league min it would be at the expense of someone like Fasching or a darkhorse like Foudy / Karlstrom making the team

I’m a little shocked by that, how on earth are they over the cap? There’s maybe 3 guys on that roster that would be top line/top pair/starting G on most playoff teams, where did the money go?

They should be trying to dump high contracts

It’s not by much but math adds up. There’s a lot of money tied up on the blue line.

Ya the previous 13 years playing there is clearly too small of sample. You’d think at this point you’d just either give him a contract or not. If he’s trying to earn a spot, you’d be better off going elsewhere

I mean, there’s kinda an aging curve and who knows how a guy is doing physically/after surgery. Bit reductive, I awesome there’s a reason they aren’t immediately signing him to a deal like they did last time.
