It was funny watch the world juniors coach use this scrub on the PP over Caufield and having the resident HF hater on Caufield say it was worth while

Wahlstrom sucks and will be out of the league soon.

He wasn't good in the NCAA, wasn't good in the A, wasn't good at the U-20s and isn't good in the NHL.

Good for him to make it this far despite all that.

Now that I've dunked on him watch the Habs pick him up.

David Savard doesn’t need to be fast though, he’s a big, physical, stay at home shutdown D. Oliver Wahlstrom is supposed to be a scorer but he can’t skate enough to get in a position to score and he’s too soft to adopt a bottom 6 role.

I don't think you have to be a good skater to pick your spots to try get a good scoring chance, Wahlstrom just seems to have a terrible hockey IQ. it's sort of sad because I do think his shot is elite, just everything else is below average
