One can hope with Duclair finally having security and commitment that we’ll see him put up some career number with the Islanders.

They also have well rounded centermen that can insulate his defensive deficiences and a head coach that wants him.

You could look at the term and say, "1-2 years too long for a guy bouncing around", but Islanders have some contracts coming the next couple of seasons, they probably need a roster player in Duclair for the time being.

He brings speed and some selfish offense. And honestly, they could use a few more players challenging the defenders instead of playing safe. At long as he doesn't become a liability for them, they can afford to have a player like that.
