Proposal: NYI/EDM

Isles aren’t moving Pulock (even at full value) and Sorokin for a mediocre backup, a clone of Dobson and a pick to offset it. The bad goalie and RFA defenseman wanting too much money are your problem.

That's totally fair but don't pretend Dobson and Bouchard are even on the same planet in terms of skill and talent.

Even if they switch teams, until Dobson shows he can put up generational numbers in the playoffs no GM would consider them remotely equal in value. So far Dobson has only shown his numbers dip in the playoffs, not elevate like Bouchard does.

They’re both offensive minded RHD who struggle defensively. Bouchard is just the more expensive one (who plays on the better team). The Isles don’t need to add in an 11m version of Dobson who will get around 9 this summer. This trade is dogtrash for the Isles and doesn’t do anything to help them in the short or long term. Now if we’re talking trades, you guys have 2 players I’m interested in but neither are going anywhere for obvious reasons.

Its not even close, sure Edm fans are saying it fair. Bouchard is a FA at the end of the year and wants 12M per year. I'll take Dobson at 7-8M and keep the far better goalie in Sorokin, and Trade Pulock and get a scoring forward. And you want us to retain salary...

And before you say you won't get that for Pulock...We definitely will, Winnipeg wants him bad. But Lou isn't moving the core (wrong move but until we get rid of Lou, it is what it is).

Bouchard wants 10, id bet Dobson wants 10 as well. I agree though I made a bad proposal. Pulock will get a scoring forward I also agree.

I just think Islander fans are greatly undervaluing Bouchard, he's miles better than Dobson.

Reports he wants more than 10M between 11-12M from what I heard. Not down playing him, but we have Dobson. Dobson won't get 10M because of the bad season he is having this year. You don't get a 10M contact when you play bad in a contract year. You don't get to break the bank, when you go from 70pt to 40pt and playing really bad defense.
So my guess they will settle at 8M.
