It is time for my yearly trade offer and I know NYI fans will point out that their D has been decimated by injuries this year.

My idea is Oilers trade and Bouchard to the NYI. Bouchard has 44 pts in 55 games this year. Romanov is not a pts getter he is more of a defensive D man. I am an oiler fan so I think the NYI would need to add some kind of pick.

Have at her--my yearly trade idea
Isles decline easily.....We are not paying him 11M that he wants as an extension. He's your problem.

One can play defense and the other is a fancy power play specialist….
7th in the league in 5x5 points the last 2 seasons while also having some of the best advanced stats among Dmen in the league 5x5. Bouchard plays modern defence where he excels at getting the puck up the ice and minimizing the other teams time in the offensive zone.

Why do the Islanders need Bouchard in addition to Dobson? Yeah not happening and Romanov isn’t really available for that. Good try though.
lol your gm would be busting nuts if there was even a chance of you swapping Romanov for Bouchard. On the other hand the Oilers GM would be immediately fired.

EDM is the one trying to move him, why because they dont want to pay him the 11-12M he wants per year. Guess what, we don't either.....We are fine with Romanov....Thanks, but not thanks.

I don’t think you understand how good Romanov is if you think Lou would be busting nuts at that trade. Why add in another offense first defenseman when the Isles have Dobson already? Makes no sense. An Oilers GM already got himself fired from trading with the Isles.

Yes, McDrai is of interest if you mean pieces from Edmonton. Neither of those are being moved at all, let alone to return Alexander Romanov. Edmonton needs a Romanov more then the Isles need a Bouchard.
In the sense that the Islanders wont even be making the playoffs to see the value of what a 30 point playoff run from a defenseman can offer a team, sure.

The Isles are missing the whole right side of the blueline, both backup & 3rd string and Mat Barzal yet are still in the wildcard mix. Not quite living off the scoring of 2 of the top forwards in the game but still not bad after how they started. Plus, the Isles already have something Edmonton doesn’t which is quality goaltending. AHL goalies can only take you so far.

Also one of the most dominating playoff performances by a defender of all time.

Not of the cap era adjusted for all sorts of nonsense.

Just purely a top 5 playoff by a defender of all time. Arguably only exceeded by Orr and Potvin in the history of the NHL.

I can buy Leetch and Coffey if you value the puck rushing aspect those two brought.

Dayum, he's gonna break your bank, like he's a living legend already. But leave our Romanov alone, Pulock could be discussed, but he wouldn't most likely waive to Edmonton. Who knows.

Bouchard is a 30-40 point guy away from McDrai on the PP
Bouchard had 47 even strength points last year in 81 games, even if you cut his powerplay points in half he's still over 60 points.

This year he is on pace for 42 even strength points and generally plays his best hockey down the stretch and into the playoffs.
