Proposal: NYI/Edm deal built around Romanov+for Bouchard

It is time for my yearly trade offer and I know NYI fans will point out that their D has been decimated by injuries this year.

My idea is Oilers trade and Bouchard to the NYI. Bouchard has 44 pts in 55 games this year. Romanov is not a pts getter he is more of a defensive D man. I am an oiler fan so I think the NYI would need to add some kind of pick.

Bouchard isn’t that good defensively, but Edmonton doesn’t have another offensive defenceman. Seems like a silly trade

Bouchards value is significantly more than Romanov so in this case, Romanov would be the “+” not the main piece lol.
 
Why on earth would you, as an Edmonton fan, even think about trading Bouchard?
He has his moments of weakness, but his strengths are worlds above any damage his mistakes may cause.

Unless he asks for a completely unreasonable salary or you somehow manage to get an even better defenseman, he shouldn't be on the table at all. He is essential to the success of the team and has been lights-out in the playoffs as well.
 
Why do the Islanders need Bouchard in addition to Dobson? Yeah not happening and Romanov isn’t really available for that. Good try though.
 
Take Bouchard out of the equation and let's talk. Romanov makes a lot of sense for the Oilers and I'm sure they've got some pieces of interest to make it interesting.

Yes, McDrai is of interest if you mean pieces from Edmonton. Neither of those are being moved at all, let alone to return Alexander Romanov. Edmonton needs a Romanov more then the Isles need a Bouchard.

BUT.... Romanov would be a sneaky moneyball pickup for any team.
i think when you look at the advanced stats and take into account minutes played and who he's playing behind..... he'd be a legit second pairing, no.3 guy when given the chance.
Guy is so good and no one really talks about it,

and that is why I am focusing on him. His next contract will be about 6mill a year vs Bouchard 11

if there was a bouchard / romanov type deal, the initial reaction would be that the oilers lose the trade and everyone would freak out. but the smarties out there would project this to actually be a lot closer in value for reasons i just stated. i dont think this will go over well on HF... most people on here are fools

Weird he's on pace for more than 30-40 even strength points this year alone and had 47 even strength points last year.

And why the f*** fans want to trade players like Bouchard or Dobson but not Romanov?
 
Classic HF

Half the posts say that Bouch sucks and is trash, can't defend... not even a defender!

The other half of the posts are lowball offers for Bouch.

I would love Romanov to be added to the Oilers Blue line but not for Bouch. Non starter. He's not on the market and if he becomes available, he'll cost more than anyone is willing to pay.

Nurse BIG GAPING HOLE
whole bunch of 5/6/7 guys and Kulak being the best and he's LD

So I have no idea why we are trading one of our only 2 good RHD to get a 4th good LHD?

We need a good RHD added to Bouch, Nurse and Ek.

This trade leaves the Oilers with

LD - Ek, Nurse, Romanov, Kulak
RD - Stecher, Emberson, Klingberg

Hope you see how bad that right side is after this trade.

Bouchard is worthless in any trade proposal. But go into a "Next contract " thread for Bouchard and every single fan base will be saying the Oilers won't be able to fit him under the cap but their team could offer some ridiculous contract :nod:
