Trade Proposal: Romanov + Pageau + 2026 Col 1st for BOS 2025 1st (7 OVR) + salary (preferably with not many years left on deal)

For the Isles, the trade only happens if Hagens is available at the draft, but if he is, they should pounce on this. Isles would be able to replace Romanov with Schaefer while keeping Pelech around to mentor him, since I think having all 3 would be too much. Isles would be able to have Schaefer/Hagens/Eiserman/Ritchie all playing significant roles in 2026 and is a helluva new core. Of course the local boy aspect plays into it, but I also think if he’s there at 7 ovr it’s good value also.

Not sure how Boston fans feel about Hagens, but if they want to get back to contention relatively quick this would be a great way. Romanov is the biggest piece and was worth a 13 ovr in 2022 draft, and his value is either the same or higher with the way he’s played. He will need a new deal tho so I’d say he has about that much value. There were reports Boston was interested in Pageau, and he’s definitely a positive (could even be flipped for 2nd, maybe a first at deadline if the season goes wrong). Lastly, the 2026 Col 1st will most likely be 20-25 but it’s a deep draft and Boston gets to keep some draft capital/ammunition after the trade.

Don't think that would get it done.

- I think the Bruins are hoping to land their next young star/stud/at least very good center this year since they're rarely in the top 10 and this is their top need.
- Pageau was of interest to the Bruins a few years ago, but he's 32 now and I don't think he's got the same appeal.*
- Romanov is a LD which is one position the Bruins are already covered, though Lohrei is an RFA so you never know.

*just saw the tweet about Bruins being linked to Pageau, whoops!

Pageant gas negative value given his age/ contract

This would've been true a couple of years ago but he's got a cap of 5, salary of 3.5 and can be flipped at the deadline. How that's a negative give he's only 33, on an expiring deal, had 42 points and 59.6% in faceoffs last year is beyond me.

It would be dumb for the Isles to trade him at the draft. He'd be a hot commodity at the deadline with even the bare minimum retained.

If hes flipped at the deadline you have a better judgemrnt of what you will get.

ar this point he can fall off a cliff. His salary was not justified for his pt production

Compounding thst you think he gets s top 10 pick????? Never

Who cares what his salary was five years ago when he was signed? He's got a year left with less salary to be paid than what a 3rd line center/pk'er will make on the open market with term.

There's nothing that indicates his play is going to "drop off a cliff". He had more goals and assists last year then he did the years prior.

And point to where I said he gets a top 10 pick? I said his value is not negative, which it isn't.

Colorado 26 is a 20+ pick

That offer is nowhere close to get a top 10 pick
First of all Pageau could get a 2nd if he was traded today, easily. Also you’re forgetting the biggest part of the deal, Romanov. If you don’t want or need a LHD than sure that makes sense, but I think this is more than enough value for the pick.

The Bruins badly need a top line center and, at the very least, a top and 2nd line winger if they want to have any chance to contend again. The number 7 pick is the best asset they have to help fill those needs either by trying to draft one of those guys are trading it for one. The same reason OP is willing to move these assets for a single pick is why the Bruins don't do it. They need top end talent just as bad as the NYI and the top of the draft is the best place to get those players.

Bruins badly need to draft a young high potential forward. They need to do that a lot more than they need Romanov and Pageau. Only guy on the market that I'd make that pick available for is Robertson.

That poster thinks everything that isn't a top 10 pick or young player that is tearing up the SHL or AHL is worthless and negative value.

I don’t see picks 5-7 being moved. All of them need a player who could be picked at that spot, and that includes Hagens if he makes it that far.

We have a full LD side and don’t need another 2c more like 3c this actually pretty low value for #7 pick. I doubt anyone would take this deal even if they need those guys when UFA is around the corner.

HUh?

Romanov + Schaefer will hold down the isles top4 on the left side for a long time. Makes no sense to move Romanov who was an absolute beast least year. He was the isles best and most consistent defensman.

I think Boston would really have to covet Romanov for the OP'S offer to make sense . You could probably sign him to something like 7 mil X 8 and have him in your top 4 for a long time .

Pageau alone to Boston maybe gets you ''one of'' the Devils or Blues 2nd rounder or Boston's 3rd .

NO, JGP is an old 32, basically a fossil. Romanov has improved greatly over his time with the Isles but isn't enough to make up for Pageau.

Besides, why would a rebuilding team do this?
Bruins can always flip Pageau for a pick at the deadline.
