obligatory post early, as it seems impossible at night with this wonky site::mad:
Here is my recent experience..

- Sunday, all desktop and laptop access was blocked by HF boards to me (a venerable Mac M1 on the ubiquitous Chrome browser)... feck this!
- simultaneously, a fresh iteration upload of Chrome browser kicked out my favourite ad blocker (Ublock Origin). Tried Chrome iterations, two different laptops, clearing all history and cookies associated with this site, refresh, blah blah blah, Mozilla Firefox, etc.. to no avail. I am no IT guru, so went through denial, anger, more denial, bargaining, fleeting depression, bouyant acceptance.
- At that point, only my phone had access to HF boards.
- @Jets 31, @Gm0ney, @Moloch, @bustamente, @buggs and @10Ducky10 chipped in with advice, went with new extension to block ads eg, Ublock Origin Lite (thanks to @bustamente ).
- this extension completely solved my ad infestation issue, but I could only log in to the main HF Boards page.
- wrote a complaint to the Tech help section of the main board, explained the problem, they informed me that they will help me.
- Tuesday AM, everything works. So far.:laugh:

I would like to see the 3 fastest Jets on a line just for the hell of it ... Ehlers Kupari and Tanev and see if the other can keep up with them.
That would be mayhem.

Tanev retrieves the puck, pushes it to Kupari who shoots wide or on the goalies crest - or, passed to Ehlers who blindly passes it to no one in the slot :)

Jk it would be fun to see!

And you sticking up for the worst defenseman on the team, you do you.
He's bad, but nearly as bad as everyone makes him out to be

I won't speak for @Jet but that's my position

Nothing indicates that he is. Not the stats, not the UNBIASED eye test... nothing.

Your hatred for him is irrational and needs to be called out (along with a ton of other posters)

It isn't a hate, it is my honest opinion of his hockey abilities.

If Stanley was 6 feet 2 in or if he hadn't been drafted in the first round would he still be on the team?

You and maybe one or two other people are the only people that are blind and don't see how bad he is.
You surprised? the person rocks stan for Stan and protects him at all costs. Tries to shit on actual good producing players on this team, or good defenders. He's 6'7 dont think he needs a babysitter.

Not surprised at all. After all, he does play in a beer league as a defenseman...

If he was 6'2 and Garrett hadn't written his article about him before he was drafted, there wouldn't be as much bias against him

Look at Chisholm. He's complete shit, but people lament losing him via waivers. But he's small and a good skater, so people think he's good. Remember the love for Niku around here? Again, small offensive Dman. People loved him

Stan is easy to dislike and criticize, so people do. There's nothing he can do (including multiple stretches this season of adequate play) that could ever change people's minds about him. That's the definition of prejudice, and yes.. I will call it out

Pre-game media:

Topics:
1) Paying tribute to Rangers play-by-play voice Sam Rosen
2) Pairing Haydn Fleury with Luke Schenn [;30)
3) How would he rate Fleury's performance? (1:13)
4) Knowing the type of NY team they are facing (1:46)
5) Potential for this to be a game 1 lineup? (2:29)
6) Depth of centre with Kupari, Barron & Gustafsson (3:16)
7) What does he like from Barron up the middle? (3:52)
8) Wanting to see depth pieces vs continuity of lineup? (4:21)
9) Using Ehlers with top line after a PK (5:08)
10) Benefit of having Namestnikov avoid injury (5:54)
11) Is Rasmus Kupari cleared to return? (6:30)

Glad I tuned in to see 3 pages (so far) of bottom pair D discussion. Again.

His name was mentioned pretty innocuously on Page 1:
I hope Arniel sits Stanley tonight even if only to see how another 3rd pairing looks.

That awakened the (buff)dogs of war, stirred to loyal action by the sound of their master being uh...mentioned, and who have now ironically created the very situation they claimed to want to avoid!

Ah, this place is great. You're all doing a wonderful job!

Miller hasn't exactly been setting the world on fire either. He's been pretty blah. If he's not going to offer anything on the PK, I am fine with him sitting down as opposed to forcing him in on his off-hand side.

I am more than OK with taking a look at Fleury/Schenn for a run.

I think that might be a nice pairing Fleury isn't a burner but is very mobile and seems to have good positioning, and rarely panics. Given how hard the Jets have worked on tweaking their system to support the D with aggressive backchecking and multiple outlets for quick exits, these two can focus on defending and transition.

That setup offers speed, mobility and offence in D1, solid D and some scoring in D2 and (ideally) holding the fort on D3 and PK.

Seems like a good/ good'enuff D setup for the POs.

So I watched a couple of games last night and it seems to be open season on the goalies. Leafs ran Utah's goalie too and of course it was an accident ... yeah right?. Helle better be careful.

I wish these goalies would wear more neck protection.

Hellebuyck's a big boy. I wouldn't mind him going all Billy Smith on anyone who messed with him though.
