Ignore list is your friend boys! Never has my experience on these boards improved so much by putting ONE poster on ignore since that one annoying Laine stan back in the day who was rooting for the Jets franchise to fold when they weren't playing him on the top line.

I try to be fair and almost never put anyone on ignore but when that man started derailing every single PGT with "why are there so few posts or why are there so many posts in the PGT after a win/loss" rants in the beginning of the season that was the last straw for me. Seems like they haven't changed.
I don't think you will see this but sorry.:naughty::laugh:

Nah, that just builds echo chambers. This is all in good fun. Unless someone is weirdly harassing you, I think it defeats the whole purpose of a Jets fan board. Sharing jokes, opinions, whipping the whipping boys, venting, hell-yeah-ing, etc.

Although I guess some people really get riled up when they get rhetorically and logically curb-stomped by me on here...but there's no shame in that - I'm known far and wide as a master debater! ;)

And it's your job to criticize players and coaches?

Nothing that anyone does on here is anyone's job. You want to post? You're opening yourself up to getting g called out, just like I am

You want to question decisions by coaching and management that have led to Stan being in the line up? Also fine. But to abuse him over his ability? That's bullying

Every team has a weakest player. If it was your kid's pee wee team, how would you tell your kid to talk about that player's abilities? Talk about how badly they suck behind their backs? Maybe take that advice yourself when it comes to all players, even in the NHL. It's basic human decency, yet that goes out the windows the second someone is behind a keyboard

If it's not something you'd say to Stan's face, it's not even worth saying on here. That's my motto
What’s a motto?

I'll put it this way... even if you bitch all day every day, it won't change anything

So maybe ask yourself why you do it... when you could be using that time and energy to change something you actually do have control over
I appreciate the sentiment. Even agree with it. But you’re trying to change Internet forums and human nature!. It’s a huge undertaking. Good luck bruh!

Agree. I’m not sure I ignore anyone. But if I do have someone on my ignore list - it was a long hard road to get there.

World is more interesting and the convo more meaningful when you include those points of view you disagree with.

I wonder if the misstep is simply knowing when to stop responding. Or going at it trying to change someone instead of conceding there points while chiming in with yours and calling it a day.

Here is my recent experience..

- Sunday, all desktop and laptop access was blocked by HF boards to me (a venerable Mac M1 on the ubiquitous Chrome browser)... feck this!
- simultaneously, a fresh iteration upload of Chrome browser kicked out my favourite ad blocker (Ublock Origin). Tried Chrome iterations, two different laptops, clearing all history and cookies associated with this site, refresh, blah blah blah, Mozilla Firefox, etc.. to no avail. I am no IT guru, so went through denial, anger, more denial, bargaining, fleeting depression, bouyant acceptance.
- At that point, only my phone had access to HF boards.
- @Jets 31, @Gm0ney, @Moloch, @bustamente, @buggs and @10Ducky10 chipped in with advice, went with new extension to block ads eg, Ublock Origin Lite (thanks to @bustamente ).
- this extension completely solved my ad infestation issue, but I could only log in to the main HF Boards page.
- wrote a complaint to the Tech help section of the main board, explained the problem, they informed me that they will help me.
- Tuesday AM, everything works. So far.:laugh:

And, subsequently I am able to saddle up and proceed:

Nope, can't login using my laptop no matter which browser I use. Sad really, especially since I paid to be a sponsor... :pullhair:

About time they found cause to take Logan Stanley out of the lineup. His last two games have been very forgettable. He could probably sit and stew for a game or two. Would love to see Heinola - Schenn at some point.

Ya i would agree with this, i have been on here for 10 years and have never put anyone on ignore, yet. :naughty:  I can just imagine how many have me on ignore though, probably good that you can't see that.

Logan Stanley is a third-pairing, penalty killing defenseman on a $1.25 million deal, he’s adequate. Perhaps slightly above average when 100% healthy, given his physical tools and the Jets’ success with him in the lineup. He’s not a standout, and his past injury issues has capped his reliability, but he fulfills a niche on a contending team. Being impactful or indispensable, he falls short. He is serviceable and situationally useful, he qualifies. He’s a role player, not a star, and judged accordingly, he’s decent but flawed.

Well, it's a strange and infuriating place sometimes. Emotions run hot. Fans is just short for fanatics.

My misstep with Buffdog was never admitting I was wrong (of course, for me to admit that, I'd have to be wrong in the first place, so... :sarcasm: ).

That sucks, have you gotten a response from HF ?

Go to the main board - it may recognize your log in details there. If it does scroll to the bottom to find the tech help section. Register your complaint - my log in issues were fixed in 24 hr.
Nope, I did that. I tried to go to the main page but couldn't login. I've contacted HFBoards twice already and have yet to receive a response. Money well spend...:shakehead

Don't forget to get your guesses into the Prediction Contest before the puck drops... :thumbu:

Please note, that because I can't use my laptop to post the results of the Prediction Contest, the results will be posted tomorrow evening when I have more time to type them out on my phone as I have fat fingers...:pullhair:

Only people I ignore are those who use personal insults. I don’t need that in my life. I’ve learned lots from many posters here who have a different view of things but without the insults.

Me too. I still think with a steady run of games with a decent partner, Ville can be a good dman.
