There are only so many years that one can claim...he'll bounce back.

There are also only so many years Laf can live off his draft status. If he were a 9oa pick like Zegras and had the career he's had thus far, no way he gets that extension, or has anyone holding out hope for him to break out.

“So many years that one can claim”….. He’s had more full seasons being productive than full seasons unproductive, this season isn’t over. Changed his game completely as well. Also he had a couple freak injuries the last two years, a broken ankle and a torn meniscus and a groin issue.

I would think Lafreniere has a lot more value than Zegras.

A lot more? He had a good playoffs last year, but other than that brief moment he’s been a disappointment his whole career, and is on pace for 44 points in his 5th NHL season.
