But seriously, as much as I've defended King in the past, I have NO clue what Sutter is thinking here other than creating 4 decent lines rather than a couple of deadly ones. Oh well, we'll see. Edit: though he obviously played very well vs. Nash

I used to get upset over the lines, but now im used to them being down by at least 2 before the lines change again and they catch up...
 
Well, my man Dwight is the second-highest scoring left wing on the Kings behind only Pearson, and Pearson is on the re-booted That 70's line, so who else are you going to put there?
 
^^^^ I was going to use this for the GDT (might still), but since Ziggy jumped the gun (rightly so, since the Kings have a month off until the next game), I thought I would post it here.
 
With Brown not producing, and Clifford the other option. What exactly is Sutter suppose to do ? I guess he could leave Brown on the top line, but Brown/King both have had up and down production. Also both are in the running for Herby's green jacket award.

You play Gaborik on the left where he has been much of the time since joining the Kings and have Williams on the right.
 
Historically, Gaborik has had his best years playing RW, correct?

Might be worth it to give it a go. Why the hell not at this point
 
King on the first line. 3 goals in the last 2 games, +3, 9 shots. Why not?

Or because King playing on that line effective turns every rush into a 2 or 1 on 2/3 because King skating next to Kopitar and Gaborik is like a cement truck next to a lambo. Though once set up in the zone it could be lovely. A string of good games by King earns him the chance but let's not pretend he's the perfect 1LW or ignore all his deficiencies by bashing anyone who disagrees.

But ZOMG DWIGHT KING kinda covers that I guess, lol.

To be fair the Canucks game goal he was skating with Richards and Clifford. But for the one game, yes.

But Sutter is right, if you look at those goals, he's being a big ass tank in front of the net with good hands. That's exactly what we need. If only we had a guy like that that could be old school on the powerplay, similar to Smyth/Holmstrom.
