Nurse Suspended One Game

Byfield was being a pos all game. Nurse sent him the right message before the real games begin. I fkn love it. Also would like to see Foegele get the business from Jones, Kane or Frederic. He's been playing us hard and physical all year, it pisses me off because its a team/fanbase that loved him and he's acting like we slighted him or some shit.

This series is going to be spicy, and i 100% support Darnell's actions, and hope he does it again if they get out of line
No absolutely not, there's no good that will come out of him getting suspended again.
He can play hard and physical without crossing the line.

I like how Danault said “they started their B team and are trying to hurt us”. Meanwhile we start our B team clearly getting ready for playoffs and they were the ones that came out like dick heads.

It’s Phillipe with an E you English pig….

TSN was even saying that we've seen much worse than this and that it basically shouldn't be a suspension.

The worst of it was low velocity hitting to the head. I agree with the one game suspension just because it was near the ice and could have gone worse. If Byfield misses a playoff game I'll think otherwise but I just don't see how he would. I know he listed as injured but that could be precautionary or just theater

The Gudas elbow on Perry was far worse than this and it didn't get a mention.

Glad I was wrong. One game is no game.
Well there is a small amount of lost wage for Nurse.

Most of all, repeat offender status expires after 18 months. So, he was not a repeat offender before this hit on Byfield. This suspension resets it and would add more to a future suspension if he crosses the line this playoffs. So he better be careful not to cross the line.

Thing to mention is Nurse had talked to Byfield about going at Pickard in the immediate faceoff leadup to the sequence. You could see he was giving Byfield a warning, which Byfield chose to ignore.

Hey, another funny thing with Prime, and people should be PISSED with this, they couldn't bother to even give this market the correct, or even somewhat Neutral broadcast. They gave us the Kings broadcast even though TNT was also broadcasting the game, and I listened to theirs and it was a much more neutral broadcast. It was a very fair broadcast and also continually acknowledging that the game was not representative in the slightest as the Oilers had so many key players out of lineup.

The Kings say that Byfield is injured. I feel a bit bad, but I assume it's mostly theater and that Byfield will be back by game 1 and maybe even next game. I also don't see how that would injure someone. It was mostly bad optics

I'd be shocked if it wasn't theatrics since they don't really need to play him for the final 2 games and he'll be fine by Sunday or Monday for Game 1. If his brain is genuinely scrambled up because of that, I'd be concerned about him long term as that wasn't much of a hit. If anything I could see his neck being sore from that, but concussion would surprise.

Agreed here. Also as much as people love Perry for his sauce the coaches have had to talk to him on more than one occasion to tone it down. He tends to be one of those that get parties started that you don't want happening. In the series you want the Oilers executing and not getting distracted by shit. It cost us in the Vegas series. Its all guys like Danault try to do. They're trying to just get our team pissed. Guys like Danault will be working that angle between every whistle. Because the Kings have to.

Agreed--some good old fashioned hockey. Sit back and enjoy it--I know I will.

Is the first game Sunday or Monday?

Game 2 is certainly Wednesday, so could be either or.

Apparently the Vegas arena has WWE events surrounding Wrestlemania Friday, Saturday and Monday, so I'd suspect we get stiffed with the Monday game and they put Vegas on Sunday and we get no advantage of one of the late games being at least on a day where the next is a day off.

The only way we get to play Sunday is if they decide to do a quick turnaround in Vegas as the event on Saturday at T-Mobile starts at 9:30AM local time and likely wraps around noon. So could they get the building ready for a 7:00 local time start. Hopefully we find out soon.

If any injury happened at all. It’s from the original wrestling match where Byfield lands head first a bit. Unfortunate. But it happened during a hockey battle that happens all the time. The cross check was really minor and inconsequential.
