All predatory head contact should be a suspensionI don’t like DoPS and think it sucks but Nurse should still be suspended multiple games for that egregious hit.

Interesting timing
This bolded bit here, really really hard to tell how much the lack of self awareness is in you....
Every time an Oiler gets looked at cross-eyed there's a main forum thread.....
I mean this is the scrum you are referring to....nowhere near as bad as bulldogging a guy's head into the ice...that you are ok with.....
Another first round pick forfeiture for Ottawa.I wonder how many games Kadri will get...
Considering the injury was much more severe and Byfield's head did not "bulldog" anywhere near the ice. Thank you for proving my point about the double standards with your team.
Don’t you know? Players in this league don’t know that you’re not supposed to cross check guys in the back of the head. Nurse will now be made aware and will cross his heart and hope to die that he’ll never do it again.Bit of a message? What’s the message, none of your actions will have any really consequences?
Headlock, drove him head first into the ice.....and....he was not anywhere near the ice...holy f***....
Look, I share your concerns about the DoPS. IMO, they suck. I am unfamiliar with the Pietroangelo foul so I don’t feel qualified commenting on it other than to say I would not condone what he did if your allegations are true and certainly would agree that DoPS was negligent if it failed to adequately address it. What I will say is that if Nurse did what he did to QB or any player, including McDavid or Draisatl then I’d be calling for the exact same sanction as reflecting the appropriate degree of discipline for the infraction. You simply can’t allow that sort of conduct by Nurse or any player. If someone got hurt then it would be sad because it was unnecessary. Someone needs to be the adult in the room. So I don’t buy any argument that the Oilers are being singled out. The proposed sanction is as much for the Oilers players protection. And I'm telling you the DoPS has a history of not giving players what they deserve. Pietrangelo's 2 handed axe swing on Draisaitl's wrist was a lot worse than this and he only got a game, and really the league decided to even it up by suspending Nurse 1 game for an instigator that not only wasn't an instigator, but was a scenario that had happened twice that year (instigator in the last 5 minutes) and neither of those incidents resulted in a suspension.
The DoPS cares only about optics and trying to look like they aren't influencing playoff series. They don't actually give a shit about player safety or proper punishment when guys intentionally try to hurt each other.
It shouldn't be 4-5, it should be 45. But the NHL will never protect its players from each other and from itself.This. Be mildly shocked if he got more than 1. That play should be 4-5 though.
I've seen some of their fans say that they are completely OK with this type of behavior, and I just have to wonder how they'd respond if it was McD or Drai.Oilers fans are really sick regarding this. It’s like the desperation and let downs of losing begetting more losing has them literally selling their soul to win a cup. I’m all about physical play but doing chicken shit stuff like what Nurse did last night is neither tough or effective. It’s just a lack of self control and desperation.
What he did isn’t hockey, it’s not self defense, it’s not playing big. If he did that in the street he would be in jail.
A still shot as proof means you've lost the argument.
Nurses arm is under his head on the initial fall, and the second hit is barely a love tap.So..slow motion, where the announcers are calling it dirty, shows him drive his head down into the ice, and then cross check him in the head.....and you show a video of that EXACT SAME THING....
And then say someone else loses the argument?
You feeling ok?
Drive his head down? It was under his arm. The headlock meant the impact was softened. The crosscheck was on the top of his helmet. Is this really how soft we're getting?So..slow motion, where the announcers are calling it dirty, shows him drive his head down into the ice, and then cross check him in the head.....and you show a video of that EXACT SAME THING....

Is Byfield hurt?
It's more of a headlock pull down to the ice, you can see his arm go around his head not just pushing from behind. This happens in a lot of games and often goes uncalled in scrums, or a roughing call.So..slow motion, where the announcers are calling it dirty, shows him drive his head down into the ice, and then cross check him in the head.....and you show a video of that EXACT SAME THING....

No pain was felt on the play, move on.
what a saint! softening the impact of driving his head to the ice!The headlock meant the impact was softened.
You don't think they just pulled him because why not protect the stars since there was nothing else to play for? They also pulled Kuemper, not like he was injured.Yea...he is......I know that's surprising.
