No it wasnt a standard play.It was a pretty standard takedown for a guy going after the puck when the goalie is trying to freeze it
The fact you continue to believe that it was is assine

I’m pretty sure he would completely understand if the roles were reversed.Omg this comment can't be real. Plays like that don't happen all the time. They're actually pretty rare. Jamie Benn got suspended for it in the playoffs a couple years ago.
AKA "I know I'll easily be proven wrong so I'll back down". Lame.Pretty standard. Okay. I'll just refrain from being rude and we can just agree to disagree.
And nobody would be defnending the player on their team. Thats what makes other fanbases differentI’m pretty sure he would completely understand if the roles were reversed.
Should be 5. Playoffs be dammed. He has a history. That has to play a large role as a repeat offender1 game max
'Proven wrong.' Lol. Just watch the video. That kind of "takedown" is not common. And I'm not going to argue with someone who thinks it is.AKA "I know I'll easily be proven wrong so I'll back down". Lame.
I’m
I understand it’s your star player and he could potentially be hurt so you feel some way about this but the first half of the play is dime a dozen in today’s game, I’m sure even you can agree with that. The second part, which was one punch exactly, can be understood as dirty. Which is what the match penalty was assessed for.
If you wanna hate on Nurse, do something about it on the ice. Don’t go crying to mommy just because your team doesn’t have big bad boys anymore like they used to. Some of these comments make it look like he left the ice on a stretcher after eating multiple slams
Knocking a guy down around the net or pinning him near the goalie happens all the time. Crosschecking a guy who is already down in the back of the head into the ice doesn't happen all the time. I dare you to show me it happens all the time.AKA "I know I'll easily be proven wrong so I'll back down". Lame.
Fiala grabs him but the refs were quick to break it up because they were right there. Not quite as blatant as Reilly last year but one shade below. My guess is one regular season game and one playoff game.
Also you'd want to see more of a reaction from the rest of the Kings there ...
Perhaps in the 70s this would be acceptable.Proven wrong. Just watch the video. That kind of "takedown" is not common. And I'm not going to argue with someone who thinks it is.
The simple act alone should get him suspended. They don't need it played up, Nurse created his own bed. This isn't even the craziest Oiler take I've seen. Over on their subreddit many are convinced Byfield and the Kings are playing it up to get Nurse suspended.
And his history as a repeat offender should be the icing on the cake. The simple act alone should get him suspended. They don't need it played up, Nurse created his own bed.
I mean the ref who saw it immediately chose to eject Nurse. That in of its self goes against your position.AKA "I know I'll easily be proven wrong so I'll back down". Lame.
Basic psychology proves your comment to be true hence why these heated arguments from both sides happen. The side that endured a loss is going to feel more strongly about a situation than the side that has something to gain. Oilers fans have seen the violent shit our guys have taken and given and I’ve been on both sides of these arguments as I’m sure so have you. Doesn’t mean the side who endured the loss is always right.I’m pretty sure he would completely understand if the roles were reversed.
Kings have actually only won 2 cups since Gretz left Edmonton. They did almost win in 2013 so maybe that's what you're thinking of?
I agree with the game misconduct and could even agree to maybe a one/two game suspension for regular season however that window is closed now. For a playoff game suspension though? IdkYo this is a wild take considering what Nurse got ejected for, completely out of pocket. Sometimes you just have to come to terms with a player on the team you support rightfully getting ejected and likely suspended.
Helll I support a team that had Matthew Tkachuk on it. When he elbowed Doughty in the nose he deserved to get suspended. It was a clear intent to injure to by a frustrated player, even if he was on my team and one of our better players. I don't know how you can see this any differently.
So you’re telling me, if Nurse hadn’t given that one extra punch and just based on that takedown alone, that play would have been “dirty” “intent to injure” and “suspension worthy”'Proven wrong.' Lol. Just watch the video. That kind of "takedown" is not common. And I'm not going to argue with someone who thinks it is.
Try again. So you’re telling me, if Nurse hadn’t given that one extra punch, that play would have been “dirty” “intent to injure” and “suspension worthy”
Take downs like that happen during board battles and forechecking all the time, this one just happened to be close to the blue paint
