The play is dead, the opponent is prone on the ice, completely unaggressive, and Nurse crosschecks his head into the ice and puts him into concussion protocol. An idiotic move by a guy with a history. He's gotta get the book thrown at him. It's in the same vein as Hartman-Stutzle.

Nurse cross-checked him down after the goalie covered the puck which is like a standard nhl play which happens all the time and Byfield was already moving up after that, that extra shot he gave resulted in the match penalty.

The Chatfield play was far more dangerous

I think years past were different, you didn’t want to get into a penalty pissing match because Edmonton had such a lethal powerplay. They are showing they are more human this season.

A regressed special teams and an already wounded roster. Perfect opportunity for LA to muck it up a bit.

crosschecking him down the first time wasn't the problem. it was crosschecking him behind his head when byfield already has only 3 inches of space between his nose and the ice. That is not a standard nhl play.
