Confirmed Signing with Link: [NSH] Yannick Weber (1 year, $575K)

He was really good for Vancouver a couple of years ago. Struggled last season. Hope to see him rebound.

Mentioned this on the Preds board, but this reminds me of the time the Kings signed Randy Robitaille, gave him #26, and waited to see if anybody would notice.

Scored 12 goals in 2014-2015. Wasn't given the opportunity last year to repeat his success. NSH gets back a Weber with a 100mph slapshot.

I think he'll be a good 6/7 dman in Nashville, in an offensive role. He was playing 19 mins/game on the Nucks, and there was no such thing as "sheltered" on that team last year, so he struggled. In Nashville, though, they've got a great top 4 who will play huge minutes, while the bottom pair plays 12-14 mins/game. Weber will do well in that role, and will be much more sheltered, able to play the offensive specialist role, which is what he's actually good at.

Every Weber playing in the NHL is a defenseman, and they're all wearing number 6. And if you combine Mike's toughness with Yannick's big right handed shot, you basically get Shea.

Imagine a team icing 50% Weber's on defence, that might confuse some opponents. Too bad this will never happen.

He was, arguably, the worst Canucks defender last season... and on a team with Sbisa and Bartkowski, that's saying quite a bit.

Nashville fans better pray he never has to play regularly.

Pro: Name is Weber and could wear your old #6 jersey and can shoot hard.

bargain barrel price worth taking a shot on him as a 2nd pp unit guy

He is actually not a bad fill in player if there is injuries to your top 4. Of course he will not sub into your top 2, if there is an injury to your top 2, the depth chart goes up to replace the injuries, he will fit right in, in a top 4 row, for a good 16-18 minutes. He is a decent offensive player that can actually wire the puck. He was brought in for that reason in the 1st place by Mike Gillis.

at 575k for a guy that can do that for a team? wonderful.
