On the day of Dubas officially starting the rebuild, we just gotta go out there and lose, boys

I'm hoping Heinen actually plays well here and can provide some secondary scoring on L3. I think they were trying to see if Tomasino could provide that but I don't think he has done much at 5v5. He's made some really nice plays on the powerplay but they need some more 5v5 scoring out of their bottom-6.

He's done it plenty of times in his career and it would help both his value and the team overall if he can regain that form. Getting him to click and putting McGroarty at LW on L3 could end up a pretty solid 3rd line.

Are any of our young players in Wilkes even going to be called up this season with Sullivan still coaching? I saw this and the comments from the GM and coach suggest not lol…I don’t think Dubas has any intention of trying to win by surrounding the core with young players…I don’t think he thinks we’ll win that way…certainly not with Geno still around, but maybe after that…

Dubas suggested fans shouldn’t get their hopes up for a wave of call-ups. He thinks prospects are benefitting from a winning environment in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

“They’ve really built a strong thing down there in terms of their performance night in and out,” he said. “What we want to do with those players is when they earn the opportunity to come up, [it will be] to not just play for a weekend but play for a prolonged stretch. Once they earn it, we’re not going to deny them that opportunity.”

Lying through his teeth. Not that I actually think they could compete this year, but if they thought that was a possibility, Nieto and Imama would have never played a single game.

I’ll be honest, I don’t expect any WBS player to be on the opening night roster next October. Not even Pickering. And it’s not because they don’t deserve it…

I think some of them have earned it already…lol…sounds like bs

Exactly…

Send him down and call up either Ponomarev or Bermstrom. With Desharnais now on the pens, there is no need to have Imama in Pittsburgh. Waive Nieto too.

Ponomarev is really the main guy I'm confused why he's not up. If Imama is just a short term fill-in for Nieto, I just get it. But if Nieto is out for any period of time, call up Ponomarev and make the 4th line Lizotte-Ponomarev-Acciari.
