Why is Nashville involved?
I think Nashville was pretty heavily rumored to be looking at Cozens in that timeframe around xmas. They've wanted a center for a long time. Although surprisingly, switching Stamkos to center seems to have worked out better than anticipated.

Management seems to love Molendyk, though, so I'm not sure they'd be likely to include him in a deal like this one. They'd probably move a different prospect or the TB or VGK 1st rounders before they'd move Molendyk.

But if you were talking 1st(TB/VGK)+2nd+Del Gaizo for Cozens, that's probably doable from the Nashville POV? :dunno:

That's just awful for Vancouver. They've pretty clearly stated/implied that if they're moving one of their feuding Cs.....they want actual, legit NHL players. Like of the PMD and/or 2/3C variety.

Instead the best NHL player going to Vancouver is.....................Reimer? Del Gaizo?
They would also have to be super high on both prospects coming back and that's iffy at this point to what they become in the NHL and they aren't trading EP40 for that quantity over better quality they could get elsewhere.

We would need a center of some repute coming back, and otherwise lack a top four D man or two.

None of that package helps the Canucks. I don't think Nashville is really going to value Cozens as much as the OP does.

There isn't a way to balance this equation. If Buffalo wants Pettersson, Cozens and one of their D, ie Powers or Byram, would be something we can work packages out with. If Nashville wanted Pettersson, we'd need a comparible package, or we can discuss Cozens if he was of interest, after the fact. This proposal simply doesn't work for at least one, and most likely two, teams involved though.
