Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. The goaltending was s#it. That has nothing to do with toughness. They got a couple of guys of there tonight that can throw. Cut out the sloppy play, cut out the bad goaltending and its a 4-0 lead for the Leafs.

Won the game despite Murray having a bad game. If we had decent goaltending, it would have been an easy win.
This team needs to win. It’s doing that.

Gunna have to explain to me how we weren't tough enough. Apparently all you do is hit our players and we fold. Well guess what I saw Nylander taken into the boards a few times, Matthews roughed up a few times. Tavares was all around the net. I saw ZAR and Bunting stand up for team mates.

I agree the Leafs stood up for their teammates. Always great to see. I disagree on a nonsense thread. It seems to me this has been the one consistent on the Leafs since becoming a very good team. We do get outhit and pushed around. Thankfully talent often wins out. I believe the deeper you go in the playoffs the more grit you face. That can't be a coincidence. The Leafs can hang with those deeper teams in talent. We need to hang with them in grit. Our third and fourth lines need more testicular fortitude. I'm fine with our blue line. I want the Swedes playing more. They take hits but they stand up for themselves and move the puck really well. We just need a little more balance. Dubas do some magic.

I thought Bunting and ZAR showed great team toughness tonight. Team didn't back down.
In fact intermission commented how Leafs showed well in this regard.

One game doesn't made a season. Or a playoff round. What we saw tonight was an anomoly. Still need a tough LW if the price is reasonable.

I think eventually we will see Matthews fight but it’s not necessary. We don’t need him too. I would however like to see Matthews stand up for himself. Not just stand there and let people face wash you and manhandle you during a scrum. Just a little push back would be nice. Though the one time he did, he got suspended for 2 games.
I’m sure someone will push him over the edge at least once in his career and he’ll drop the gloves.

I dunno. I thought the Leafs showed decent toughness and pushback the past two games, even though we lost against Boston. The additions of Hunt and McMann have helped, and rotating Simmonds and then Benn in made sure we weren’t lacking for veteran toughness. Wish we had a true top six forward/top four defenseman who had the combination of toughness and edge we need but otherwise I think the Leafs showed out well against two Atlantic division rivals. Didn’t get pushed around and made sure to let other teams know we don’t appreciate getting f***ed with.
Dubas doesn't believe in toughness. Otherwise he would have addressed it (other than Muzzin) in the last four years. His only concern is building a strong regular season team based around stars they can market.

When Cousins was constantly cross-checking Matthews from behind did you or anyone else think he sold the trip that Matthews gave him?
On the plus side at least Matthews didn't retaliate with a cross check back at him, because the last time that happened he got a 2 game suspension.

What? This is flat out wrong.
He went and acquired more than just Muzzin.
Foligno was the wrong toughness, Bush last year. NAK, ZAR, Hunt, Ritchie, reaquiref Clifford, kept Simmonds.
You can argue he hasn't acquired the toughness you want but it's pure nonsense to say he hasn't gone after it.
Not to mention the Leafs are at the top of the leafue for bord battles won, and that requires toughness to constantly come out with the puck.
They do not tend to rin people through the boards or throw huge open ice hits but they still are mid pack along with the Avs, Car when it comes to hits.
I too would like to see the top 4 have a little more snarl to their game but they have never lost a playoff series because they were not physically ready
Murray was trash, Leafs dominated that game badly. Despite him allowing some softies they overcame a 2 goal deficit and won, not sure what lack of toughness has to do here. Also Benn/Bunting etc. were all over Florida physically.
