They need to make a trade or acquisition on D immediately. Someone who will annihilate the opposition if they approach anywhere near the front of our net.

Otherwise another extremely long and futile remaining season is upcoming.
The other teams get a free pass to our net on a regular basis....see the play tonight where Nugent Hopkins went untouched past 3 Senators..first Greig, then Sandy, and finally Zub and tipped the shot in past Ullmark.

This Team is a serious joke!

The wheels have officially come off which was just a matter of time. Sad it couldn't last till Christmas break though

We have virtually the same record as we did last year at the same point in the season.

I would say it’s been a clear disappointment now. I was on the fence on what to think and they can turn it around but this is not what I expected… and my expectations weren’t high.

Defense really isn't our issue at all. We need better finishers.

i think so too. i think he follows his brother.

From what dudes like Methot are saying, if the Sens traded Chabot, Norris, Batherson or Pinto the fanbase wouldn’t be that upset wearing our 7 years no playoffs suckiest team ever shirts.

They won’t trade Timmy, why would you?

Brady is the guy. He’s a one foot out the door guy and we all know it. Like EK he has a feeling of being too big for this market.

How do you roll it back again with Brady after 8 years no playoffs. They can’t remove November from the calendar, there will be a November 2025

Brady deserves out, and he’ll want out. 8 years of this is a long time

Ottawa unless it becomes a disaster
We've sucked long enough that if Brady wanted out, I really wouldn't care tbh.

Players like Alfie, Karlsson, etc all had good times attached and it was legit gut wrenching to see guys like that leave.

I'm not advocating for trading anyone, I like Brady, Stutzle etc, but I certainly wouldn't lose any sleep about anyone being shipped out from a squad that is approaching a decade of losing.

Brady is not an Ottawanian like Alfie and Ek were. He’s still a hired gun to many in the community, great guy, but the bond isn’t as deep as with the other two and I don’t think the exit will hurt anywhere close to EK or Alfie did, those two belonged to us, they left home. Brady never gave us the impression he was destined to be here like the other two, it’s not home for him, it’s a work place and we know it.

I don’t think fans will be as upset with the Brady trade as the team fears - we are a beaten down group that’s disengaged and burned and we’ve seen it before, it’ll suck for sure, but i honestly think it wont be that bad.

Brady always had the feel of a University girlfriend to me, you love her but you know soon enough she’s going to go back to her real life in the town she came from and where she belongs.

Honestly, Brady is a someone whom I would be ok being shipped out of here. Going to Florida with his brother, who would come back for him? This core needs to be split. Norris can leave as well, but no one will touch him with his history. We are up shits creek and the other GM's know this....we will get fleeced by the other GM's as usual.

I seriously have no idea where they go from here. The only thing I could see possibly working is just trading their best players for equivalent talent and hoping it's a better mix.

They can't rebuild with 1 prospect and a missing first rounder. And the existing guys like Stutzle/Sanderson probably don't want to go through 4 years of a rebuild.

And they have a ton of money tied to guys that are not worth it (Norris, Chabot, maybe even Tkachuck/Ullmark etc.).

I think Tkachuck is as good as gone if they continue to suck for the rest of this season. He probably wants out and he's the only guy you can trade and get something back that's decent. I could see a lot of teams convincing themselves he's a missing piece of the puzzle in terms of playoff success. If you already have guys that drive play like McDavid, Matthews etc. I can see thinking he'd be a good guy for playoffs, similar to Matthew. .

I think Brady is miscast here. He's a star, but not a #1 guy on a good team. He's too slow.

No clue what kind of return you could get for him.

Many no shows this year. Trade anyone or all of the following MIA ( missing in action) players. These players look lost and are completely disinterested. These statistics are glaring.
We can't keep unproductive players like this around.
3 points in total from these 5 players.

Giroux 1 pt in last 9 games.
Pinto 0 in last 4.
Perron has 0 pts all season.
Sanderson 2 pts in last 12 games.
Greig 0 pts last 12 games

They were facing a team on the second half of a back-to-back that's currently in a slump? Classic sens shit the bed again. This team hasn't been enjoyable to watch since the ECF run, and before that the Pesky Sens.

For all the laughing this offseason, Montreal is only 1 pt behind with one more game played.

If Sens fans haven’t been « humbled » by now… I don’t know what will

I told people that laughed at Montreal that their team is accomplishing what we are, but at least they have prospects ready to step in and improve their team. We don't.

It's not that I think Montreal is good or going to be good. They suck and I have no confidence in their core...which is basically how I feel about our core. It's just they're younger and have more options and more room for improvement.

We're at the age where most of our core will start to plateau or even decline, and we've got nothing in the cupboards.

We need to find a way to rebuild or retool.

The problem is a rebuild scares people because this team has been ass for so long that they don't know if the fans can withstand another 5 years of bottom 5 finishes.

The problem with a retool is we don't have the total organizational assets to (including losing an upcoming first) to get a championship team after a few trades unless we somehow win them all big time.

We're literally in no man's land.

We either bite the bullet and suck in hopes someone not named dorion can build a future winner, or we stay in perpetual mediocrity for ever.

Also, not even sure staios or green are the guys to build a championship team. They don't have a track record of that.

That groups lack of production is certainly part of the problem, not sure I'd say they look lost and disinterested, but Sanderson, Pinto and Giroux in particular need to start putting up points.

I think you have to trade Brady before that NMC kicks in and he can dictate where. teams like Utah, CBJ have a ton of young assets with High upside. get a young F and a young D for him and maybe you can retool on the fly. If you are out of it at the deadline you move Giroux for whatever you can get. He will have significant deadline value

Even those times you mentioned, we generally had an average to below average team..I think most years we allowed more goals than we scored...which is a bad team. They were lucky or pesky and went on a run at the right time.

We haven't actually had a strong team since like 07-08ish when we started to suck.

So like, a good 16 years since we've had a "strong team" that others would actually call a good team.

You need to have a good GM who can win a trade like that.

Last thing you want is a stone-like trade where we get like 2 prospects who don't pan out, some 3rd liner for cap dump, and a low first or something.

Has staios ever won a big trade in his gm career?
