Probably zero chance Divencentiis or Nelson return to the OHL, but seeing how Saginaw scooped Bloem for free this season, do teams start trading O/A's for conditional picks now?

hopefully 5 Mathurin 14 Wakeley and 16 Vansteesel
It’s time for the 2006-07 born D to play? For a team that has been trading away picks and younger players for three straight seasons, the battalion have invested a lot of high picks in the next group of D; there are 2-2nds, 3-3rds, 2-4ths.
‘05 - Ride, Kennedy
‘06 - Turley, Rismond
‘07 - Wilson, Enright
‘08 - Greer

Ride and Kennedy won't be going anywhere and will end up as OA's
Rismond hasn't shown much and I wouldn't expect him back.
There is also '07 Gallivan

I don’t know if it will be enough to earn a spot on the battalion D, but Rismond showed he was less likely to make a mistake than Turley and Wilson.
The point was NB probably tries to move OA D because the team invested a lot of draft capital in 2005-08 born D. The team has used 2nd, 5-3rds, 4-4ths on the D. At forward there is an import and 2-1sts, 2-3rds used by round 4 over four draft years. Of those, Romani is a good bet to be moved at some point this season.

Would love to be a fly on the wall in the Detroit Red Wing boardroom when they are giving reasons to NOT sign Tnias Mathurin to an entry level contract!! What am I missing??? Someone sign this guy.

I’m not sure of how many contracts and protected players Detroit has. Committing and giving $ to a player that has played less than 50% of his scheduled games could be tough.
Though I do think he will be signed during a summer camp somewhere dependant on a clean physical, and returned for another OHL season.

We , in Owen Sound are extremely excited to welcome Coach Wray (back) to Owen Sound .
He spoke with extreme fondness about North Bay, we could tell how very proud he is, of the entire organization .
Scott is a welcomed addition to the Attack. We cant wait for him to get started. See you for an exhibition game visit in 13 weeks !
BREAKING; Scott Wray has been announced as the Head Coach of the Owen Sound Attack

It's possible they were only offering him an AHL deal. They've got a handful of guys at LD that are higher up the food chain. He was going to be in tough for opportunities.

Long time drinking buddy of Scott’s…,,grif was always more concerned with getting his booze on instead of doing his job….he was not not the reason the battalion left Brampton but he definitely didn’t help with relations to the fans….mr Abbott was always concerned with the little things that he forgot about bigger things
