Can't say I watched the Blues very often during that era, but I would imagine that Pronger was simply more of a force in the late 90s/early 00s than MacInnis.

Whereas the Blues were a solid team in Big Al's Norris season, in his Hart season, Pronger drove them to a highly impressive 114 point season (in an era with ties and no shootouts) and the President's Trophy.

This was peak Pronger. He was traded to Edmonton and became the sole reason for them making the playoffs and going all the way to the Stanley Cup finals

Then he moved to Anaheim and won a cup.

He had this magical ability to have the players skate in his direction when the other team had the puck.

On any night you could just put Pronger out on the ice and all of your troubles would magically fade away... Until THAT happened and we had to trade him away for peanuts

Still, in the 2000s only Crosby, Ovechkin and Hyman have scored more than the 14 playoff goals Pisani had that year. And none of them had five game winners.
