This one is close, Lidstrom really adjusted well to the new rules (no more waterskiing) demonstrating adaptability that I could never see Chelios doing, but Chelios just was the type of defenseman you loved on your team, a complete bitch to play against

Definitely close, I give the edge to Chelios as he actually lead his team in scoring, and didnt have as many stars compared to DET. Was also a lot more physical with his 140 PIMs.

05-06 and 95-96 were similar GPG avg (05-06 was the PP crazed season after the lockout)
