It should go to the NHL's best defenseman in any given season and this year, it's Cale Makar.Makar will win, but I think this should be Werenski just because he's dragged the Blue Jackets into the playoff race. Werenski leads his teams in points, and they're still alive in the playoff race - when a defenseman leads his team in points + they make the playoffs, that should be pretty automatic imo. Obviously remains to be seen if CBJ does make it, but with what their expectations were at the beginning of the year and the fact that they're still alive in the playoff hunt at game 81 of the regular season on the back of Werenski, this should be him (But will be Makar)

Are we allowed to homer vote ?Who do you think will win this year.
Some of what you are arguing would be for a Hart trophy, being most valuable on team isn’t necessarily a big indicator for NorrisMakar will win, but I think this should be Werenski just because he's dragged the Blue Jackets into the playoff race. Anyone other than Cale Makar is the wrong answer. Funny I haven’t seen any fancy stat cards this year, Cale must be leading them all.
For in a row, Harvey, Park, Potvin, and Robinson join too.Clear winner this season.
Will already be his fifth finalist finish in a row.
I’m pretty sure only Orr (9x), Bourque (7x), Lidstrom, Pilote, and Hedman (6x apiece) have more.
Unless he misses half a season, that seems like a record destined to be broken.
What would they like to say?Adam Fantilli, Jet Greaves and Voronkov would like a word with you.
I know we always tell you to go against your head as a general rule of thumb.Heart says Zach Werenski
Brain says Cale Makar
