Norris is a C, and it is obvious. His skills would be wasted as a winger.

That is old school thinking. C don't have to be distributing. As much as I like that type of pivot, there are many wingers who are more playmaker than scorer.

Norris is on pace for over 30 goals again! WTF do people want?
Eh I don’t think you need to be a distributor but I do think as a C your ability to elevate your linemates is pretty important. Your wingers will shuffle quite a bit so a C should have that skill. I don’t think Norris does at this stage but I also don’t think he’s a finished product.

He does way more positive things than not, so it’s not a major issue. It would be my one critique of him though.

So is Pinto, so is Ostapchuck, so is Stutzle. If Pinto takes the step we all want him to, he isn't a bottom 6 player - means one of he, Norris, or Stutzle moves to wing. That's not a bad thing. Move Pinto to RW if that makes it more platable. Reality is Giroux is getting long in the tooth and we'll need a top 6 winger to replace him, if not next year, the year after. Ostapchuck is going to be a force and will be perfectly placed as a 3rd liner (contract will be right for that spot too).

If it MUST be Norris and Pinto at center, be ready to move one for somebody else.
None of this is true.

There is nothing wrong with having a good 3C, and if Pinto can take a step that's exactly what he would be.

There is no need to force a good C to move to wing. Wingers are the easiest of all positions to fill. If Ostapchuck and Pinto can be 3rd and 4th line C, that is a good thing.

That's this year, effectively. It won't last, or if it does, then players have not taken the steps forward that I'd like to see.
