New NFL league year, should have a new thread...
Here's the old

"Teams are waiting this out, waiting on Rodgers. The feeling is there's not just a money consideration here. There's fit, there's surroundings, all those things. Minnesota Vikings are sort of on the periphery here. Sources there tell me that it's possible they get involved with Rodgers, but the feeling this week has been probably not. They want to develop J.J. McCarthy."
Rodgers is reportedly seeking a contract that would earn him an annual salary of approximately $33.3 million. It would likely be in his best interest to create a bidding war, and conflicting reports suggest that may be what his agent is attempting to do. A Vikings source reportedly told ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler that signing Rodgers is possible, but not likely. NFL insider Benjamin Allbright took it a step further in a social media post on Saturday.

“I’ll be more blunt,” Allbright posted. “The Vikings have no interest in Aaron Rodgers despite his interest in them.”
The Minnesota Vikings do not want to sign Aaron Rodgers despite recent reports from Mike Silver and Dianna Russini pointing to a possible interest in the veteran quarterback. Adam Schefter confirmed that, with many rumors swirling, there is no chance of that happening.
The information indicates that head coach Kevin O’Connell trusts that J.J. McCarthy is the right one to lead the franchise to the Super Bowl. Although Rodgers is a very appealing name to replace Sam Darnold, that would not be the path to follow.

Please sign Flacco instead of Rodgers lol

@Jbcraig1883

I was looking at that Gopher OT more as a later pick but I completely forgot about Skule. Would you go with Nolen or Grant if they are there at 24 or looking CB/S?
I think if we're going by greatest need, then the best safety on the board would be the guy, since we lost Bynum and Smith is old. Emmanwori and Starks look to be the only 1st round type safeties though. I think Emmanwori is the physical freak who has taken a pretty big jump in the mock drafts I look at.

Otherwise I have no problem stacking DLs and CBs. Can never have enough. Nolan, Grant, Pearce Jr on the line, Barron on the corner.

It never was going to be Rodgers. This was all media and likely Rodgers' agent driven rumors to try to drive up the price IMO.

I agree. I do think Rodgers would've preferred the Vikings over the Steelers and Giants, but I agree that it was never a serious consideration on the Vikings part. It's nice to see that talk put to rest.

I think it's now becoming obvious that her "source" is Rodger's agent. Lol.

Someone else made the point but the only people who were reporting Rodgers to Minny were people from the Athletic. Other people like Schefter and so on have said its not happening.

Meanwhile, Pelissero went on Twin Cities radio station KFAN-FM 100.3 and elaborated on his report.

"They are not pursuing Aaron Rodgers at this time," Pelissero said. "Aaron Rodgers has been made aware that the Vikings are going to go in another direction right now, which means that his options are the Giants, the Steelers, or wait—potentially retire—but potentially just wait to see if anything else develops around the NFL in the coming months here."
They have said "no" to Rodgers.

Would Rodgers have given the Vikings a legit shot at the SB this year? Maybe, know one really knows. They said the same thing about the Jets as well. Yeah he got hurt but they werent ever serious contenders imo. The only thing i do know is that JJ is the QBotF and at some point you have to rip the band aid off and give him a shot to start to see what you have.
