Noesen Major for a Check to the Head on Tage Thompson

My 1st thought was how do you headshot someone 6'6" tall but that makes sense. He was leaning forward and people will bring that up but this is on the hitter. Even if Thompson was upright that hit wouldn't be going through the body

Something very wrong and toxic going on in Buffalo...

Yes. It’s the ownership.

Btw…the refs didn’t even call a penalty on the play. Only after gathering the linesmen and realizing Tage was badly injured did they bother to assess anything. No arms up.

Justin Kea has a long history of f***ing over Buffalo and Rochester while reffing the games. He “missed” an elbow to Dahlin early in the game too.

He’s a dangerously petty piece of shit with an axe to grind against his previous organization and continuing to allow him to ref their games is a joke.

I think the reason the league won't do much here is because of Thompson's posture as he's getting hit.

The league will give a high benefit of the doubt to the hitter that it was unintentional, and thus the sudden change of Thompson's head position in the second prior to the hit will be a mitigating factor.

It's the DOPS, so who really knows, but this would be how I predict they see it.

2 head shots on key guys on 2 East teams that never catch a break in 24 hours

And some job Buffalo did getting tougher

I mean Tage is still taller than 99% of guys in the league when he's kneeling so that's an absolute bullshit rational.

They need to start handing out penalties for helmets that aren't on properly. Will they seriously wait until someone dies?

I know you're mad, but that's just not true. Do you think Tage's shins are like 4 inches long?

Clearly, his head was at Noesen's shoulder height on that play. It wouldn't have been if he'd be skating upright.

I didn't call the hit clean or anything, but I think the league has shown that they take the hitee's last minute change in position into account historically.

But if he was upright and not leaning forward the hitter would have still only clipped Thompson. No posture change by Thompson there would have fixed that hit in terms of following through the body

Where is the last second change in position here? Thompson was leaning over the whole time. Noesen just didn’t care.

Which is a bullshit mentality that NEEDS to die. A hit to the head is a hit to the f***ing head.

Craziest part is that not one Buffalo Sabres player stood up for Thompson and went after Noesen after the hit.

There was is literally no player in Buffalo that will do so. Hasn’t been for over a decade now. It’s a part of the larger problem with the Sabres, they are mostly skill players. Hustle, compete, team bonding, looking out for one another, these things are what Sabres fans have been screaming about for 12+ years now.

Someone hits your best forward like that and you look at your skates as you slowly move away? The coach better damn well address this and the team better commit to never doing that again going forward.

SN is not a dirty player but in the end if they deem it worthy of a suspension it is what is...Head shots can ruin a career intentional or unintentional doesn't matter....As for length of suspension I think player history and did the other players stance lead to the head shot all will factor into it....
