Noesen Major for a Check to the Head on Tage Thompson

I was at that game and had absolutely no problem with him getting suspended and honestly it probably should've been longer.
I assume you're talking about the Clifton hit. I can accept the suspension for him, but if that's 2 games, Noesen's should be 4. It's a much worse example of picking the head and going out of your way to make the hit. If those are the criteria, how could anyone argue Clifton's hit is worse?

DOPES should release a video explaining why they won't fine/suspend for this one.

They absolutely should do it for *every* case they review.

In any case, trying to read DOPS mind here:

Noesen was going for the puck, not for the hit. He did not change his trajectory after playing the puck, only braced for the collision.

I think the biggest difference between the 2 at least in the eyes of the league is that Clifton was going for a bodycheck and hit Nico in the head, Noesen was playing the puck and braced himself for the inevitable contact.
This does not and should not excuse the fact that Noesen hits Tage squarely in the head, but it's likely why they decided against a suspension.

I'm sure they will have some BS explanation, but if you look at the video evidence, Noesen plays the puck and then, looking right at Thompson, leans towards him to make the hit. You can even see his arm following through as he delivers the hit. I don't even think it's debatable.

Was nice knowing ya, bud. Write us to let us know what your new handle is when you create your new account.

Like I said above, this is one of those cases comically where the lack of DOPS intervention *is* them exhibiting consistency. I brought up the Rempe/Bastian hit and the logic applies both ways. Neither were suspendable according to the league.
Chill out bro, it was just a joke.

I'll take the bet if it's not too late.

It's the intent that saved Noesen though, he was playing the puck and didn't really have anywhere else to go so he braces himself. I think his only other options were, allow Tage to have the puck uncontested, attempt to shift away or duck under or exactly what he did, brace himself for the impact.

Again, I disagree with the non suspension, but understand the reasoning behind Clifton getting suspended and Noesen not getting one.

You see Noesen drive up into the head of Thompson.

Its a suspension. One thing the NHL always talks about is a player driving up with their body and you can see that very easy. Noesen even follows through it with his arm.

Not a tough play at all, its a dirty one.
As much as aspects of this make this seem it COULD be incidental, the chicken wing at the end tells a different story. If he had kept his elbow tucked….
