Shouldn't be very contentious. Is Bedard a guy who can win a game for the Blackhawks on his own? No, not really. Teams will probably be afraid of him when he enters his prime or is near his peak, but he's not there yet.

A biased fan I may be (though that doesn’t really apply when comparing him to, you know, another blackhawk), but how biased do you have to be to be searching out Bedard threads to argue against him when you cheer for a completely different team and not even the team of the players he is being compared to.

I only argue against him when he's being overrated. I argue for him when he's being underrated, of which there are plenty of instances.

Last time Avs played Hawks, I was very scared of Bedard. He got a G & A in that game.
Also I'd have taken him or Scheifele over at least 4 or 5 of the guys on the current Canadian roster. Don't need that many "two way" players in the bottom six.

I don’t see the hype. He seems like an okay middle six forward down the road. Maybe a complimentary piece to a Cup contender but not a franchise player.

No he wouldn't.
The kid is in the top 50 for points this season, leading his team in points by a wide margin. There is no coach that wouldn't play him regularly, even with his limited defensive acumen.
Now go ahead and answer me what teams would he only be a middle six guy on. What team has so much offensive firepower that he'd be relegated to the 2nd or even 3rd line.
