5OA talent if I remember, sucked previously, looked good under NYR. Should not be viewed on same plane of a similar drafted player who has been more successful, of course, but that said, he is a righty shot mid 6 F, and only one component in a package.

So yes, serious.

OK, just want to make sure lol

Strome is 25, he is what he is now. 3.1M is too much for a guy scoring like a 4th liner. He would be in conversation for someone like Dalton Prout, not a 21 yrs old top 4 dman with upside. Georgiev is no better than Rittich and we do not need Poink.

Your offer was seriously one of the poorest ones in here. Hanifin has #1 upside and he will bottom out as a #2. I wouldn’t trade Sam Bennett for the package you suggested.

wouldn't take Bennett for those 3.

And Hani was looked at as a poor man't Bobby Orr since the draft.
While he is a serious talent that commands, let's not pretend he has actually reached that vaulted plateau just yet.

Strome is a mid 6 talent, not a 4th liner. As is appropriate, he is yielding mins to Zib, Hayes and Chytil in the pivot and sharing mid 6 pivot and RW with Namest; Nieves, who should be slotted higher, is currently our 4th. He would not get more minutes until Hayes and maybe Zib are moved, sell high.
If he is not for you fine. But the OP specified a righty injection, and this is arguably a talented but inexpensive F. He is what he is, but obviously he is better now than what he was with his other teams.

A goalie was also specified. Again, someone inexpensive who is showing recent production.
Whether or not Georgiev is no better than Rittich, the OP requested netminder help.
@RangerBoy, perhaps our most esteemed poster on the NYR board, has suggested we seek a 1st for him.
Again another solid component.

Pionk, is a cheap RD add who can skate but is too inconsistent otherwise. Not inclined to give you a matured DeAngelo instead to seal the deal.
RD was specified, I believe, and this is elc add.

If you want to wait for the sexy 1:1 Ryjo-Jones thing, good luck and keep waiting, supply and demand demonstrates the herd is backing a fallacy, and that is the exception to the rule.

You may get a better package, but it was not a subpar offer.

I assume the OP would be looking for a package of futures as he mention this trade taking place if Calgary is up against the cap .

Edmonton and Calgary just don't make trades so this is value wise . Edmonton 1st 2019 + Prospect + Edmonton 2nd 2020

You did no fixing.

Laine is a flawed and valuable piece. Can't drive a line but can score with the best of them. If the Jets add Mark Stone they will have:

Wheeler
Scheifele
Byfuglien
Stone

as RHS forwards who belong on a #1PP, while having only the mediocre Morrissey at LHD. Laine's value continues to drop, too.

As for Marner the Leafs might be hooped in keeping him if no one takes on the Nylander albatross. Not that Hanifin's a great fit there as he and Rielly are similar.
Buff is a forward now?lol. As a fan of neither team I would also rather have morrisey. You’re so out to lunch if you think that you can get laine for him straight up

It was absolutely a lowball offer. You offered all pieces that are disposable parts to the Rangers. Hanifin is not a top pairing dman yet, because Peters is bringing him along appropriately so he can succeed. This season he’s been paired with Hamonic and playing in all kinds of situations. He’s had some defensive gaffs to be sure, but you can see what kind of talent and potential this kid has.

No man, it's a classic quantity for quality offer. Chia and Milbury are no longer in the NHL.

If Strome can not make the Rangers top 6, how the hell is he going to make Calgary. He is a bottom 6 player period. You are not going to convince anybody he is a top 6 player if he cant hack it with a non playoff team, actually multiple non playoff teams. If he is on Calgary, he is not even going to make the top 9. Bennett, Jankowski, Neal and even Ryan are better than him.

Poink cant play defense and good luck getting 1st for Georgiev...that's a good laugh

3rd liner (tops), backup goalie, and fringe Dman. That’s a straight bargain bin garbage offer.

The flames got a better package for Dion Phanuef, and that’s saying something

None of this matters, Hanifin is the last one we look to trade on the backend.

Why was he only signed to a 6 year contract? Why wasn't he given 7 or 8?
The Flames rarely give contracts of 6+ years and Monahan is the only player in franchise history to be given more than 6 years

Really bad idea from OP.
Flames have no problems with the cap, especially with a 22 year old top 4D signed long term to a good cap hit; who still has loads of runway to go.

People forget even from last year to this year, a tremendous improvement YOY was made.

Last year he was a super sheltered 5/6D that was used as an offensive tool.

This will come to a shock to people, especially those that may lean more as a Hanifin detractor (we have a few on our board) the guys getting the worst zone starts in Calgary, along with some nasty QoC. He's been used as a defensive D, and is also a fantastic PKer. To boot, he'll also eclipse his point totals from last year within the next 10 games. He'll set new career highs in everything.

For Flames to move Hanifin, it's going to take something absurd. Some futures and shit isn't going to move the needle. Think about your Jones/RyJo type deals to even get the Flames to budge on moving Noah.
