Noah regressed in his contract year and people here are pissing in their pants.

Rather than trade him, I’d like to see him playing in the system Roy tweaked last month, having the team tighten up defensively with 5 men low in the D zone. This is more of the type of system Trotz used and Lambert went back to midway last season before he got fired. It’s the system where Dobson had success. Too many times this year Dobson looked like he was caught in between.
On your latter part, that’s pretty much the entire team under Lou, which is mainly due to its construction.

Dobson is a nice player, but there’s enough warning signs on him to be careful with getting locked into a Nurse/Jones type of deal.

I think he does get traded. There should be interest in him from at least a few teams. I can see a team like Philly or San Jose having some interest. It’s not easy to find a PP quarterback like Dobson…

For all the talk of Dobson having a down year, along with our own eye test, before he got injured he was leading the team in average TOI per game. So it's not like the coaches were disappointed to the point that they were limiting his ice time.

The position of offensive defenseman has changed. Emphasis is on the offensive and the defensive is less of an imperative in comparison. Erik Karlsson, Cale Makar, Devon Toews., Rich Werenski are the poster boys for this style of play. However, it's not a complete sellout on defense from these types.
Dobson doesn't quite match up on the O side and is considerably less effective, even disruptive, on the D side. So much so that he is a defensive liability many times while trying to drive offense.
If those guys are 9's on offense and 6 on defense, Dobson is 7.5-8 on offense but 4.5 on defense.
Perunovich appears to be at least his equal if more.
If we could land a proven young scoring forward with upside I do it rather than sink $8-9M on Dobson.

Karlsson and Makar are not especially good on D. Not 6s.

I think Dobson needs to figure out how to fit in with Roy - he was doing great before the coaching change. And he might even fit in better when he gets back since the D system has gone more relaxed in coverage since he got hurt.
