Yep probably the best comparable. Though Sergachev was already signed. He is like Sergachev, who got a top prospect (Conor Geekie 11overal 22), young top 4 D ( J. J Moser) and a 2nd.

Sergachev was already signed and a proven Cup winner. I can't imagine Dobson returns as much, though Sergachev's injury history probably had some impact on his value.Yep probably the best comparable. Though Sergachev was already signed.
Not without Marner leaving his father and entourage in Toronto and signed to an extension.Dobson, Nelson and conditional 2nd (3rd if leafs make conference finals)
for
Marner and Niemela
I was more posting so others could see the equivalent value to put it in perspective of what Karlsson’s contract would be in 2025-2026 cap money.... Kinda why I said "Even with the cap pump coming."
Dobson is also an RHD and scores more than Sergachev did on an offensively anemic team. Better chance he goes for more than Sergachev than less I think.Sergachev was already signed and a proven Cup winner. I'm not sure what the Islanders would move Dobson for given their management and place in the standings. I'd want the Sharks to be interested but I don't know if they have the pieces the Isles would be looking for here. I think bare minimum on a new Dobson contract is probably 10 mil.Dobson is also an RHD and scores more than Sergachev did on an offensively anemic team. I'd consider something around McTavish +/- some other assets going either way to make it work .What about ANA?
Different conference, loads of young offensive/scoring skills, and no clear/proven #1 D (IMO). Seems like an ideal fit. It'll be difficult to find 1-to-1 value in a trade w/ any team, but maybe something involving Zegras? Not a NYI/ANA fan so I won't speak to who's adding, etc. etc.
So you wouldn't want your kids to try to make the best money that they possibly could?Hope you don't teach your kids those types of values
I don’t think the Panthers have the pieces the isles would want for him. Lundell as a center piece would be beat by a lot of teams.

Father of the year over here...
Ask for rookie camp alumni Evan Rodrigues too.Carter Verhaeghe.. if this happened it would be time to rent another billboard
Aside from any financial reasons, Dobson also may not wanna waste his prime years on a middle of the road team.
If I had kids, I would want them to do as well as they could at a job they enjoyed doing. I've known several people over the years who have left higher paying careers for lower paying ones that they enjoyed more and found more satisfying. So you wouldn't want your kids to try to make the best money that they possibly could?

Teach them to maximize their potential and not be taken advantage of? Or to stand up for what is right?
Yeah, that’s exactly what they should be taught.
Middle of the road? They are bottom 5 in the east.
