Looking at the Rangers standings, kind of funny seeing them with 60 games played, 30 wins, 30 losses, 0 goal differential, and the same 15-13-2 record at home and away.

Also, that record at MSG is freaking gross, be better at home next year.

Dare I say Calvin de Haan looked good

Overall, he was pretty good. He was caught up ice too often for someone who is supposed to be a stay at home defender. There were too many times where Jones was defending an odd man rush or Jones was the last man back in a sequence and I’m wondering where de Haan is. If he can play the right side, I might try him with Vaak and put Jones with Schneider.

Revolving door of different players in the top half on any given night except one who has been a permament fixture since January 1st.

Numbers since January 1 at five on five, great stuff.

Also, a contender is about to get Reilly Smith for a nothing 2nd round pick, and be a great add. The Rangers should trade him, that's not me saying they shouldn't before someone yells at me.

Another player we would have been better with last year. Really sucks we're trading an under the radar good player. But I get it considering his contract and age.

I don't think theres a prerequisite timeframe - but less time is less data. It takes players time to settle in at the NHL level. An early read is fine, it's just less likely to be right compared to an opinion after a longer period of time.
The NHL is a different speed. Berard being up earlier this season is a huge advantage for him over Oth. Right now Oth is first starting his high speed education. It will be an adjustment. Kind of like when you go in a dark room and cant see anything at first but gradually your eyes adapt a bit.

Id luv to get a 2nd for Smith but people shouldn't think that is a slam dunk. There are a limited amount of teams looking to add that kind of player who may be willing to part with a 2nd. I suspect if it was already offered Drury would have already pulled the trigger. That is probably what he is holding out for and trying to get.

See that's the thing I think Berard can be a 4th liner or even a decent middle 6 guy. I honestly still don't know what Othmann is. He is physical I guess.
Geesh....the kid has played maybe 25-30 minutes in his NHL career so far . We should at least give him some grace and let him play and learn from mistakes . Maybe in a year's time we might actually have an idea on him . He could put on 10 pounds of muscle in the Summer . Give the kids legit shots for a change .

I don't think they're closer to the Sharks at all, even record wise. We should have won both games against the Avs and were the better team in both. The Avs are not the same team they were in 2022 and people treat them like they are because of MacKinnon and Makar but they're not overly impressive. If you're referring to the direction of the franchise that's a different argument. But the Avs this year are nothing special. Shesterkin lost us two games against them.

Edit: Come on man, the Sharks are 25 points behind the Rangers and the Rangers are 8 points behind the Avs. This is just a ridiculous take. I know for you pessimism is like porn becase you've literally been down on every version of the Rangers but just saying blatantly false shit discredits your posts.
I am not talking about points, I am talking about Cup potential. Whereas I love pessimism porn, you of all people shouldn't be calling any takes ridiculous. lol

*Peeps last 2 cup winners*

Yeah thats a no.
last two cup winners as "slow" as you think, are faster than the Rangers.

I didn’t think he made any glaring mistakes tonight or since he’s been up. Maybe a bit out of position in the defensive zone. He goes to the net and is physical. JT Miller style

didn't watch the 3rd but was impressed with the pace/effort over the first 2 periods. Amazing what infusing youth can do, I also enjoy watching our bottom6 play. Culture shift?

Still had some major breakdowns defensively where Quick made some Pejorative Slured saves. They really need to change their defensive zone system. It's just not working in the sense the breakdowns are catastrophic. Say it works 95% of the time..... the 5% just leaves people wide open in front of the net for insane A+++++. scoring chances. Seems as if the opposing team always scores on said breakdowns.

IMO this forward group may be good enough to win.... obviously minor tinkering.. The defensive group needs at the bare minimum a top pair LHD. It's been a need since McDonagh was traded.

I've grown indifferent with Schneider. I can see the potential but he just always leaves me desiring more. Maybe a new coach changes things.

KAM is a completely different player since Borgen.

Mika is such an enigma.... he looks so much better now... I actually saw him throw a heavy hit on the forecheck yesterday.... I was confused... but how he handles the puck makes no sense. He botches it way too much on the PP or in general.. something has to be wrong there. It doesn't make sense... He needs to be in the bumper when Fox gets back. The play should not go through him.

I'm impressed with Othmann. He's all over the ice. He attacks the puck just like Berard. What a difference they bring to the team.

30-26 after being president trophy winners last year...absurd
Well.....I am of the opinion ...and maybe I am biased......but they should have rid the team of the babies when they mutinied against NJ in the playoffs. At that point Drury should have been axed.....Turk kept on or Lavi....not much difference in reality .....and we would have been so so last season and likely improved this season without the dead weight . We basically wasted a season and Lafreniere/Kakko missed out on it as well in the overall learning curve . Now we have to go through it all again.....it is a vicious circle .

LOL...he might become our JT Miller throw in the deal for nada like we did with TB for another jersey seller like MSL .

Hey Marty earned his Blueshirt. But yeah Ive liked what Ive seen from every young player who has come up throught Hartford. Cuylle can handle the top 6 imo. Bennett/Wilson type player. Rempe, Edstrom, Berard, Othmann all are very affordable young, physical players that we need. I dont really think we cant develop players. I think certain guys development just stunted for different reasons.

Tampa had a dynasty and were slow AF. I remember when people were talking about how they couldn't handle the Rangers' speed in 2022.

The miles from their cup runs had taken their toll by that point. Plus they played that series with out Point who can really burn and they lost a few other guys who had above average wheels (Gourde, Coleman.)

Their cup teams were faster.

They aren’t.

Panthers definitely weren’t.
