Everything seems to be intact so now at least I have something to work with. I will give it my best shot.

OMG OMG OMG :jump:

Absolutely the best summer of my life. I woke up every morning with fresh joy when I remembered.
OD'd on swag.

I will definitely renew my long lapsed HF sponsorship. :D

There was a swagger in my walk that summer, for sure! Someone even PMed me to ask if I wanted to be a mod since I was generally pretty cool and collected during the playoffs. I was chuffed with the compliment, but...

i was too nervous to go out and watch the game with friends.
so i watched it alone at homw with the wife.

i remember going outside by myself and setting off fireworks after the win.
next day at work. i remember high fiving the ceo as i walked into work.

There's a part of my liver that's never recovered from that night. Tears were shed. It was the best summer, doesn't feel like 6 years at all.

First Cup I was alive for, not sure anything else will touch that team or that run for me.

The 2011 Bruins playoff run is similar to the 2004 Red Sox 10 Days in October - We most likely never see anything like it again.

I've seen 3 Cups in my lifetime and 2011 tops both 1970 and 1972 as those Cup runs had little drama. 2011 we had drama

Mine too!

Mine too! My grandson was born a few weeks later...At that time I remember thinking that it was too bad that he wasn't here already and old enough to celebrate with us!:vhappy:

I also remember thinking that I wouldn't know what to say if/when I came on here. I honestly don't know whether or not I posted.

There was a thread I started (I hardly ever started any threads ) that ended up being a good luck thread. I believe the last post ended up being posted in Oct of 2011 as folks were trying to extend the luck to the next season.

I would love if you could find that one.

I started it when the B's were down 0-2 to the Habs in round one and went until the b's won the cup.

I opened my window and celebrated with random people on the street. Man oh man, If we could just resurrect that last GDT...

Susan - your first post after they won

p44cnyC.png

It was so much fun. Everyone was so happy.

I remember I was invited to go watch game 7 with friends of mine but I choose to go home and watch alone....because I wanted to be with the folks on this board.

It was like being with family when the b's won.

2011- the Bruins won 2 series after going down 2 games to 0.

I think those are the only 2 times ever, they won a playoff series down 2 games to 0.
They have still yet to win a series down 3 games to 1 however. Thought they were gonna pull that off this year against OTT to be honest though.

If at all possible please please find that original GDT rant I did using "Patton" & "Animal House" . Gee Wally said it was one of the best posts he'd ever read on these boards and that my friends is high praise indeed

I will find it :)

Sorry Bets......I spent 4 hours going through the entire Habs series GDTs....post by post....there's thousands....I couldn't find it.

:(

Need a better target as to when it was.

The real tragedy is that we lost EverettMike's thread about change. Best thing I've ever read.

I was working at a restaurant at the time and I happened to get wicked lucky and ended up having every night off that the Bruins played in the final

I even looked at the GDT of the 7-0 game late in that season. :dunno:

Truth. That was easily the best thread in HFBoards history.

I've gone back to look at this one a couple of times. That was a fun night as well. You knew they were going to get within one and at least give us too little too late. I don't think I've ever yelled as loud as I did when Bergy tied the game. No way they were losing at that point.

The morning after Game 2 of the Montreal series in 2011 I blew a gasket and while at a Starbucks in the Back Bay started this thread and half of you agreed with me and the other half wanted to lynch me
