does anyone have a sportsnet now subscription without a cable package, and if so how do you access it on a smart tv or hub device (roku, etc)?
I live in the boonies north of Waterloo - according to Bell, I cannot get Fibe where I live at this time. Rogers is my only high-speed internet choice.
These are your options to get the Sportsnet Now app.does anyone have a sportsnet now subscription without a cable package, and if so how do you access it on a smart tv or hub device (roku, etc)?
Watch on your big screen through Apple TV, Chromecast, Xbox, PlayStation, Amazon Fire TV or Android TV. Watch on the go with your smartphone or tablet.
There are no legal ramifications or rules regarding streaming in Canada for anything only copyright claims. And again that only applies to the people providing the streams and not the ones using them.Interesting, I didn't know that. I always thought they were like a tv version of MVNO's, but not directly paying the cable companies. Well, at least the ones you can get for $20. Something like VMedia is legit, and cheaper than Rogers and Bell.
Fairly certain it's available up too 24hours after the gameFor apps like Sportsnet, can you just come back after the game and watch it or do you have to stream it live?
Make sure to use a VPN otherwise you won’t get sewed but your ISP will throttle your internet connection so it’s too slow to watch. There are no legal ramifications or rules regarding streaming in Canada for anything only copyright claims. OP, best case is to find friends/family who are still subscribed to a capable pack and are willing to share their online profile with you. I use my parents. Their provider sign-in can be used to sign into SN Now or TSN Go.
Amazong Fire has a Sportsnet app
PM me if you're okay with the not-so-legal way. Costs $0/month.
No their rogers cable login works based on what internet connection it is on. Since your connection is Ottawa, it will be an Ottawa connection.Question for you (or anyone) ...
I live in Ottawa. My parents live in Toronto and have Rogers cable.
I know there are going to be fewer blackouts of Leafs games in Ottawa this season but there could be 14 or so. Would their login (using TSN or Sportsnet App) work in my home without VPN (say if they came here and wanted to watch the game*)
*once pandemic rules allow it. ;-)
I would strongly recommend against NordVPN. I tried it to watch Netflix USA, and all it did was buffer and freeze. Couldn't watch a single show. I've use IPVanish for a few years with 0 problems.I’m in the same boat. Bell doubled my cable from 80$ to 150$ and said they can’t lower it because I’m an existing customer. All I wanted was for it to be back to normal price but anyways, idiots, since then I’ve learned that paying 1400+ a year for cable is ridiculous. Most people don’t realize but you are already paying for Netflix, prime, Disney which means you are paying twice, even triple the money for the exact same content. A lot of channels are free or you can subscribe directly for cheaper. Apple TV for 5$ a month you can pay directly for only the channels you want without having to buy bundles. YouTube tv not yet in Canada will be a game changer because they give free chrome casts and offer cheaper service.
if you are interested in what I did after cutting the cord and still manage to get everything other than sports.
1. nord VPN for something like 100$ a year
2. Real debrid - for like 100$ a year. This is a content delivery network that has all movies so you stream faster and it’s encrypted (extra layer of protection + speed)
3. Cinema app for movies/shows
4. Mobdro for free iptv (pretty slow but it’s how I watch the news or background tv while I’m busy)
Has anyone used a VPN and nhl Game Center to get all leaf games? I was considering this or the sportsnet app but as someone suggested for the same price I can get bell alt tv even though these guys pissed me off
I'm not 100% sure, but I think you have to watch it live. For apps like Sportsnet, can you just come back after the game and watch it or do you have to stream it live?
You can watch the past 24 hours on demandI'm not 100% sure, but I think you have to watch it live.
Got Surfshark so that I can watch the US and UK versions of Netflix. Also works for Swiss hockey and Aussie Rules Football as well. Never thought I'd have to use it to watch hockey in Canada.Make sure to use a VPN otherwise you won’t get sewed but your ISP will throttle your internet connection so it’s too slow to watch.
For guys who don’t understand VPNs. For like 5$ a month, you install an app on your phone/device/pc and inside the app you pick which country you want to change your ip addesss to, it’s as simple as that. VPNs are being marketed as a kind of like a new anti-virus; a way to protect your online activity.
So, what do you do, cast it from your phone to the Tv?I have Sportsnet now and it works good, especially since I watch many sports.
But why, why in big wide world, does sportsnet not have an app for a streaming stick or smart tv? So annoying
