No more cable, best package for ALL Leafs games?

I apologize if this information is available somewhere else in one of these forums, but I didn't see it after a cursory search.

So I abandoned my Rogers cable last year, as we stream / Netflix what we watch these days.

I have a tablet, a PC and a Smart TV. I live in Waterloo (well, near it), Ontario.

Is there a package available to stream ALL Leafs games, regardless of where the game is played?

The descriptions of NHL Live, Sportsnet Plus, etc. all sound like there are going to be limitations, and I cannot get ALL 56 games plus playoffs. I am not sure why these companies cannot just flat out explain that you will or won't get all the games...but that is probably part of the marketing.

Does anyone have a package that has ALL the games and playoffs? I am willing to pay the monthly fee that it takes, if I get all the games.

I was just about to do the same, haha ironic.

But yeah I donno, tsn or sportnet seem like the only options.

Not sure how the two work out.

I was using my parents east coast tsn account for the juniors, have no idea what to get living in London.

It's overall pretty much the same as cable, however there's no indication of what of the tsn1-5 channels are actually availible on my parents account.

It's pretty frustrating that I won't know what I'll actually get if I buy the service for an ontario postal code.

My current plan is to switch between tsn and sportnet on week long passes. If you time it around HNIC I"m sure you can get the both of best worlds.

I could be wrong but ive looked into it too. Im in the same boat. Itd be nice if you could just get the nhl package etc but sportsnet and tsn get a certain amount of games because of their rights.. so I think you have to pay for both which is a fairly big price tag per month for some people.

It would be nice if they packaged altogether for 1 payment or had deals on just Leaf games per year.

Anyway someone probably knows more about this but per month you'd have to get tsn and sportsnet package to see all of the games I think.

Otherwise its searching on the internet for free ...

I'm finding Bell's AltTV to be a great option personally. It's kind of like having cable, just delivered via the internet, and to get the premium tier that includes all the stations needed for Leafs hockey it's just $29.95 per month. Includes crave tv content too

Works on PC, on phone, on tablet, both at home and away, and you can even get a tiny Android based receiver to connect to the tv

I love the package, but I am not an existing subscriber to Bell's internet, I am still with Rogers. Goes up to $110 per month to get it all together. Ouchie.

Oh true. I forgot that was a requirement. That said, I can't imagine Rogers internet is costing you much less. I can understand not wanting to switch though

I live in the boonies north of Waterloo - according to Bell, I cannot get Fibe where I live at this time. Rogers is my only high-speed internet choice.

As far as I know most games are not on the NHL package.

Almost all are blacked out if you live in Waterloo region.

Yeah that's what I figured. Due to the rights/blackouts I think getting NHL would be useless.

I should check into my internet provider and see if they have something like bell where they have a sports package over the internet that you can bundle together. I know they're doing more of those the last few years.

Well, if I cannot watch the games, I can’t be disappointed in real time! <kidding! go leafs go!>

Alas, there just doesn’t appear to be an easy way to get all the games, so I might have to just settle for MOST games. I am not really interested in spending a gazillion bucks to get the few that I would miss. Sportsnet Now+ might be my best option.

Thanks for the help, fellows!!

I ditched cable a while ago and I registered for Sportsnet Now. $20/month if you sign up for a year and you get access to everything that airs on any of the Sportsnet channels, which I believe includes all (or close to it) leafs games.

I think I counted 41 games this year... out of 56 not bad.

I may just get the sportsnet package. Plus they'll have all the playoff games im pretty sure.

Legally, Sportsnet Now+, and TSN Direct. Illegally... an IPTV package, which are dirt cheap, and gives you a lot of content.

For apps like Sportsnet, can you just come back after the game and watch it or do you have to stream it live?

Iptv isn't illegal in Canada. Its content is copyrighted, but that only means the people providing the iptv service can be sued by the copyright owners. They still can't go to jail for it though.

I have Sportsnet now and it works good, especially since I watch many sports.

But why, why in big wide world, does sportsnet not have an app for a streaming stick or smart tv? So annoying

OP, best case is to find friends/family who are still subscribed to a capable pack and are willing to share their online profile with you. I use my parents. Their provider sign-in can be used to sign into SN Now or TSN Go.

Amazong Fire has a Sportsnet app

Interesting, I didn't know that. I always thought they were like a tv version of MVNO's, but not directly paying the cable companies. Well, at least the ones you can get for $20. Something like VMedia is legit, and cheaper than Rogers and Bell.

SN does have an app for Android TV(Sony), it even goes 60fps if your internet is fast enough. It looks almost as same as cable if you have a fast stable connection.

I live in the GTA and ditched cable 5 years ago. I used to use the center ice/NHL Live subscription with a US based VPN to watch all the leaf games -but last year I started getting blacked out for some of the regional games. The Sportsnet and TSN streaming is fine - but you have to watch in real time, unlike the NHL app which allows you to start a game in progress from the beginning.

I just found out Sportsnet has a rewind option. Can rewatch game up for 24 hours after it's done
