Watching Jomboy and his crew go "who TF is Merryweather?" was pretty satisfying.

Congratulations to Mr.Montoyo on 100 wins. May you prove us all wrong with another run & manager of the year.

That doesn't make sense though. We do this even when we open at home under the closed roof with almost zero chance of rainout.

The last 8 times we've opened at home we didn't have a day off inbetween. 2019, 2018, 2013, 2011, 2009, 2006, 2004, 2003. I stopped then because season openers were only 1 game series before then which I don't remember. The Times we opened in Tampa(includind last year) were the same. Pretty clearly it's only the outdoor stadiums that do this

Theres no game today? what kinda BS is that

It's the normal kind of non-BS? Outdoor stadiums schedule an open day after their opening-day games just in case there's a rainout. That way if they lose the Thursday game they can push it to Friday and not start the year out with a whole whack of schedule juggling to deal with.

So grateful for baseball

Let's kick some Yankees ass.

Also does anyone know when the minor league seasons kick off? I miss tracking all the Jays prospects and minor league games.

Fantasy help again cause even tho im an asshole to a lot of you i come here first for baseball info (so if you dont wanna help i understand )... Merryweather got sneaky fantasy value or was yesterday just a nice day? I have an open spot but limited pickups (60) for the year..

I think it would depend on two things... how your league values relievers, and if Merryweather will be the closer. The way the relievers were used on Thursday makes me hopeful it'll just be a right guy-right situation type thing instead of a "Closer" and set roles, but it's hard to tell with Montoyo.
