No criminal charges over death of ice hockey player Adam Johnson
Adam Johnson died after suffering a neck injury from a skate during a collision in a match.

Anyone with a brain knew that this would be the outcome. And the correct oneGood, it was disgusting how long this was getting dragged out for.
The only thing getting dragged out was the poor guy who lost his life. I feel bad for his parents. Grief is permanent when there's no justice.Good, it was disgusting how long this was getting dragged out for.
The linked article says the crown did a thorough investigation and concluded there was insufficient evidence to prove the incident was no more than a tragic accident. Yes, the player died as a result, which is why it’s so tragic. The article also said he was about to propose to his girl too. So it’s bad all around. Maybe the player who caused the accident has suffered through this too? The article doesn’t really mention much about him.The only thing getting dragged out was the poor guy who lost his life. As others have said, this is an injustice. I don't know how you watch that and your first instinct isn't that Petgrave got his skate up. To me it is clear.concluded there was insufficient evidence to prove the incident was no more than a tragic accident
That’s your opinion, which is based on watching a video. The Crown investigation didn’t come to your conclusion and they did a lot more than watch the video. They investigated for many months. As others have said, this is an injustice. I don't know how you watch that and your first instinct isn't that Petgrave got his skate up. To me it is clear.
Well I think I came to the correct conclusion without months of investigation. Again, the parents... their grief will flow over onto the lives of their remaining children, and further. It's the type of thing that drowns an entire family in depression, anger, sadness, forever. That’s your opinion, which is based on watching a video. That would happen regardless of what happens to Petgrave. A perceived justice doesn’t take that away.Well I think I came to the correct conclusion without months of investigation. Tragedy does impact families. It’s terrible. Not suggesting anything different.Well I think I came to the correct conclusion without months of investigation. This doesn’t preclude a civil suit if the family sought damages for the pain and suffering. As others have said, this is an injustice. I don't know how you watch that and your first instinct isn't that Petgrave got his skate up. To me it is clear.
You are making some pretty bold claims about how his family is processing this.Well I think I came to the correct conclusion without months of investigation. Again, the parents... their grief will flow over onto the lives of their remaining children, and further. It's the type of thing that drowns an entire family in depression, anger, sadness, forever.
It wasn't on purpose or even criminally reckless, I'd even say it falls within assumption of risk of playing hcokey, but it was definitely "hockey reckless" and exactly why players can't just be flailing their legs around with sharp metal objects attached to them.
A lot of times families heal by forgiveness rather than vengeance, or in your mind, justice.Well I think I came to the correct conclusion without months of investigation. Possibly?A lot of times families heal by forgiveness rather than vengeance, or in your mind, justice.
A careless act? Possibly . But i am certain Pettgrave had no intentions on ending someone’s life that day.
I personally think it was close to the line of being criminal and I’m honestly still not sure. In my opinion it was incredibly reckless and I’m sure I’ve seen footage of a similar play (don’t have time to find it again). The play was a high risk of an unforeseen outcome. I’ve never seen a player do anything remotely close to what he didwhen initiating body contact.Insane on a hockey forum there are so many people who think he should be charged.
