If the Oilers win this game that will be very impressive.I suspect Jets will come out hard today, good test.
Had to share this Twitter nugget.
Thats brutal.
I wonder how close to the cap that roster was?
Teams that can play within this window applies to teams north of Calgary and teams from Manitoba. The rest of the league is exempt.I thought that you weren’t allowed to play games in under a 24 hour window? Collective bargaining agreement stuff.
People do have google right? People di know that Winnipeg does in fact have an international Airport?
James Armstrong international Airport???
A quick check...that 2018/19 team was at $62M.Not too close. That was the first season of McDavid's $12.5M aav deal.

Here is where I got that info. I just assumed that the bloggers data was correct. With that lineup? Interesting.
They finished that season at $80M. Add McDavid's $12.5M to the $62M roster on that NYE game and it brings them to $75M so that's reasonably close to what they finished the season at.
If they start dominating on the scoreboard again I don't want them letting off the gas until they're up by a touchdown. This team has blown too many leads for me to be comfortable with even a 5 goal lead.Let's beat the shit out of them again! My nemesis loves them, he didn't show up at work today because he knew I was going to mock him relentlessly, so this is obviously a must win!
I was thinking that very thing in the 3rd period yesterday. If they start dominating on the scoreboard again I don't want them letting off the gas until they're up by a touchdown. This team has blown too many leads for me to be comfortable with even a 5 goal lead.

The Oilers 2018 -2019 Cap Situation?
Interesting to be reminded of just how bad this team was only 5 years ago.
It really puts an exclamation mark on just how sad the situation was only 5 short years ago.Buddy was probably right. The Oilers had a 62 M cap hit with 15 players under contract sounds reasonable. 18M to sign 8 more guys makes sense.
