They finished that season at $80M. Add McDavid's $12.5M to the $62M roster on that NYE game and it brings them to $75M so that's reasonably close to what they finished the season at.

I was thinking that very thing in the 3rd period yesterday.

Early in the 3rd I saw them starting to flippantly throw around back passes in the neutral zone.
Its amazing how stubborn this team is when it comes to learning important lessons.
