Tatar was invisible in the playoffs . Not worth bringing back .
Haula amd Marino are both valuable to the roster . Marino is a stud for us .
Offence from D was partly due to Hamilton playing with essential one arm . Again , Luke and Nemec will eventually be big contributors on the back end

Holy s**t, this may go in the HFBoards wall of shame for worst takes ever.

1) Nosek is a great FO and PK guy.
2) Maybe the only argument you can make is Graves here as a big loss, but Severson’s cost was too high and Wood is easily replaceable, not worth locking him in 6 years.
3) You never watched a single Devils game to say that Haula and Marino were weak. Lazar didn’t even play enough for multiple reasons, so you can’t even judge him. Calling them weak is ignorant and stupid. Haula was a machine in the playoffs and Marino was part of arguably the best D-Zone pair in the league.
4) They lost vs the Canes because they were beat up and didnt have enough big bodies to withstand going through the playoffs up and down the lineup. Adding guys like Toffoli and Nosek will add size to the forward core. Having a line of Nosek-McLeod-Bastian will be solid.

I truly love how people determine if players are good or not by the amount of points they put up.

Yes, they shouldn’t have re-signed Haula, dumped Marino, and not signed Novak because who cares about the PK or defense.

Your hang up with Lazar is in some ways the most bizarre part of this to me, he’s a spare 4th line center who makes 1m. He’s completely harmless depth, if he actually became a problem the team could just waive him and bury his entire salary in the AHL.

I mean, you’re cartoonishly wrong about Marino too, but the Lazar stuff is just confusing. NHL teams don’t typically get much offense from their spare forwards. I don’t know why you expect that.

The defense is worse from the jump, but may turn out to be around as good depending on how good Luke is, and whether Bahl keeps up his form.
