I literally saw this coming.

I just said nothing in case it sounded biased or in case the Devils were going to find someone more proven.

"Hey, so like in seven years, the Devils might claim you when another goalie retires unexpectedly right before the season starts."

Question is why him?

he has horrible numbers. Kinkaid would have been a much better option. Even Tokarski would have been

New Jersey isn't winning anything this year so even if it's highly improbable, there is still a chance that Comrie can establish himself as a decent backup goalie. If that happens, New Jersey got a free 25-yr old backup. Both Kinkaid and Tokarski are a literal bandaid and don't fit the Devil's timeline, and they aren't the difference between winning or losing a game.

I don't think Comrie is an NHL level goalie. I wish him the best as a Jets fan as he has an awesome attitude.
Of course, maybe he has made progress since I saw him last year.

NJD would have to waive him again, and Winnipeg would pick him back up for their taxi squad. We reclaimed him last year after Arizona claimed him from us. He wasn't good for Arizona, but our organziation clearly sees him as depth that they want.
I thought AZ claimed him then dealt him to Detroit, and we claimed him when THEY waived him?

Anyway, seems like a great kid but terrible NHL goalie. He'll be back lol
