Perhaps Sammy‘s quote was because he wasn’t on the bench, he was too busy standing there like a dude bro wondering about his friend getting his ass kicked by five guys in the alley.
Here's a transcript of the words shared between Sameuelsson, Tucker, and Power after the hit:

Samuelsson: "Oh, the horror!"

Tucker: "What say thee, my good man?"

Sameuelsson: "Goodness gracious, it appears our leading scorer has been brutally elbowed in the head a few feet before us."

Tucker: "What? That is despicable behavior, and we must report it to the relevant authorities immediately."

Power (skating up to the other two): "Gentlemen, did you see that? I abhor this sort of violence!"

Samuelsson; "Indeed good sir, there is simply no place for this in our sport. I'm shocked, shocked to find this type of behavior on a hockey rink."

Tucker: "I shall not stand for this. I will immediately pen a strongly worded letter to to league to express my utter indignation at this monstrous occurrence."

Sameulsson: "And you shall add my name to your correspondence, to increase the gravity our collective displeasure."

Power: "Caution be damned. I too shall sign the letter! Let us put the entire league on notice, we're simply not going to take it anymore. Test us again, and we will unleash a letter writing campaign unlike the hockey world has ever seen!"

Sameuelsson: "Good God man, you've gone stark, raving mad with rage. Control thyself!"

Tucker: "But what of our fellow colleague, crumpled upon the ice? What shall we do in the present?"

Tucker, Samuelsson, and Power (staring at each other back and forth): "f*** him."

Ruff said there was a couple of guys on the bench who wanted to "go after him." But Ruff adds "with where we were at in the game, there was going to be a time where we would even the score."

Did he mean after the final whistle?

When prodded by a reporter about Noesen being ejected and thus unavailable for retaliation, Ruffs curt response was "Pick another guy. Pick any guy."

So was there a green light to do something or not? It's a little confusing. But reading between the lines, my guess is the guys who were chirping for revenge had a green light to do something, especially after the final whistle, but chose to do nothing,

Nobody wants to go to war with a bunch of guys who will abandon you as soon as the enemy appears on the horizon. It's why we're in last place. The intangibles of a player required to build a great team with a backbone don't appear on no chart, they're not evident on a page of statistics. This GM has zero eye for that kind of hockey player.
The bolded quote kind of bothers me. This season is dead so who cares about where we were at in the game? Showing some heart, some courage, some concern for your teammate should be more important than winning a meaningless game in February.

Who the hell nicknamed Samuelsson "cobra" when the far more apt "worm" was available?

Never understood the affinity for him. Dopey p****.

I get that Sammy (6'4" 227) and Power (6'6" 226) aren't fighters, but they're both substantially larger than the 6'1" 205 lb Noesen. Ffs your star forward just got stretched out on a clear headshot. At least grab the f***ing guy and put him on the ice.

No pride. No guts.

And Lindy was worried about the game situation. Sure, bud. We're only 11 points out now, with 8 teams ahead of us. f*** that guy too.

Hollow words after the fact by Ruff…they had roughly 15 minutes left in the game.

I just can’t shake knowing that 5’9” Benson would have thrown himself right at the bastard and have to have dragged anyone else on the ice into the fight.

Apparently, we’re lucky he wasn’t on the ice since Lindy didn’t want anyone doing anything that could risk these precious two points in a season that’s been lost since the 13 game losing streak

I thought Benson straight up, tried to elbow Meier in the junk when Meier got the penalty.

The nightly roster: 1 honey badger, 17 teddy bears

Suspend disbelief, and picture this team in a playoff series. They'd get run out of the rink.

zapping my friend in the age of psychotronic weapons and a scum of Keefe head coach telling his scum team watch the game again we look like we are a different team for fifteen minutes then the body recovers revives itself and the look normal..

watched this in person at dead show Orlando 1994 it's been declassified as crimson mist in real Rwanda the opposite rage where anything real exxagerated and used like this game YEA YEA ALLEGEDLY but can't use as excuse and the finally overcame today

do they suddenly suck for ten minutes of third etc watch them revive with 7 to 5 min left and if I'm nuts , tell me did they all do smelling salts and wake up

devils are as dirty of team as I've seen in a while w two very talented cry baby Hughes that can really play and outskate unless their hit etc

a great win today

and that fook that hit tage is dead when we play them next more than half this team is understanding what's happening

believe what you want flame away but I can prove what I've seen and this has eerily similar tells the unusually amplified fear of Colorado etc is .... well odd no?

either way good win against scum we as fans could find that fook in the parking lot no?

Didn't read all the pages of responses so I apologize if someone else said this already....

(I defended the Beck trade and thought he'd be a fan favorite by now)

Where has he been this year? It's clear to me at least he isn't invested in this team or locker room. He's the one youd expect to do something in a game like this.

Feel bad for Cllifton too. If he's not healthy scratched for Jacob effing Bryson he's gotta presumably take on the league for this sorry sack of shit team?

Was going to watch this game after dinner, but got spoiled so caught highlights.

The vision of Tage laying on the ice after clearly taking one to the head from Noesen......and NOBODY DOING ANYTHING?!!?! Are you joking me? This is freaking Lucic on Miller 2.0.

Blow it all up. I'm done with these shitbags.

Beck was pretty good early in the game. Clifton has the crud going around the team.

I saw the replay of the hit.

Man, that (lack of) response from the boys was worse than the Miller-Lucic incident. They atleast scrummed after that hit.

There were definitely a couple of players who saw the hit It's pretty obvious from their reactions. I also don't doubt a few missed it.

Pretty pathetic overall.

Tbh, if these guys had the passion to respond appropriately to a hit like that, they probably wouldn't be in last place. The whole season (and basically the entire NHL careers of most of these guys) has revolved around not stepping up or responding to adversity. As much as I want to be upset about it, I can't really say it's surprising or anything new.

Zucker's reaction suggests he didn't see the hit. I'll give the rookie Kulich a bit of a pass.

Power and Sammy had to have been looking up-ice at the time. Both of them should have rocketed straight for Noesen, gloves off, and fists flying. I'm embarrassed for them, frankly.

I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall in the dressing room.

Regardless of Noesen, I don't get why you don't go after the star players?
Our best players gets picked off year after year.
It won't stop until you retaliate 10 times worse.

Benson is more of a pest in which he tries to stir up the other team. He doesn’t come across as someone that is responding to said sort of hit. The guys I fully expect to have responded would’ve been Krebs, Greenway, and Clifton. Kind of sad to see that Cozens was once that guy that I would’ve added in that list.
