PK loses us another game on a dive

Had our chances, didn't bury them

NJ Devils Minnesota Wild SCF would make the dead puck era proud.

Onto Washington, where Quick will hopefully be back in net. Let's see if this team can stay out of the box against the Caps, don't want to give them many opportunities.

At least we will be able to put together a streak now. Too bad it'll be a losing one.

Not that it was a problem today but still looking forward to DL making a splash. This team treading water has to be making other people nervous because despite our good play the results are looking 2015ish.

Gravel is awesome.

Can't wait to see our PDO after this one, just have to laugh at our ability to control 60% of every game and not draw penalties.

I am happy/glad this game is over.
Not gonna sugar quote. Devils (and the Wild) playing their game (play not to lose, win on PPs) could be the cure insomnia...

Didn't do enough offensively - way too much searching for the perfect play.
McNabb&Schenn were passing black holes.
Can't question the effort level of our boys. They did do better as expected (by me) in the 3rd.
For the Devils I thought Andy Greene was the only one standing out... The rest of that team was content to dump the puck...

You could see the matrix during that game. It was just so systemic and by the book. From both teams. The Devils get a little stupid nothing PP goal early in the game, and then shut it down for the day. Then the Kings got more pressure as each period went by. Finally got a couple rebounds in the 3rd, couldn't get the puck into the net, and that's game.

If the Kings had gotten one in the 3rd, they would've ended up winning. It's not even that an annoying of game or outcome. They didn't play poorly. The effort was there. It was just one bounce early for the other side, and then no improvisation. Everyone followed a script.

In and of itself, not really mad at this game in particular, **** happens--but in context, it's awful.

That moment where you realize that team is 8-2-2 in their last 12 but we're playing .500 hockey since new years is disgusting.

next game against the Caps

Not including EN goals, the Kings have 43GF, and 46GA, in regulation, in the 19 road games outside of the Pacific. That includes the weird Boston game. They're 5-8 in regulation, saved by a 4-2 record in OT and SO.

Take out that Boston game, and it's 34 regulation goals in 18 games, which is a whopping 1.89 per game. So 4-8 without the Boston win. The game today makes some sense in that context.

All you want on a 7 game trip is to break even. 7 out of 14 points coming back home. Then there are 8 of 9 games at home, although a few of them are against Pacific teams, which of course the Kings have been bad against on home ice. First thing first though, get through the not easy road trip with at least 7 points.

Nothing worth being mad at. Devils played well enough to win. Capitalized on a powerplay gained from embellishment, and the Kings hit a couple posts. Game 4 in 6 nights, too.

I'm glad to see Gravel is given a fair look. Now they need to get Forbort up alongside him and we will be fine. To be fair to Forbort, he had to sit a lot and his game got rusty because of it. He's back up to form now in Ontario. Gravel really isn't any better than Forbort, and he has now the benefit of the McBain Ehrhoff experiment being over with. Gravel's game never got rusty. He's played a lot of minutes all year. If you really think Gravel is the real deal, then everyone should be thinking the same about Forbort. Now watch Gravel get traded in the name of needing a vet for the playoffs. If we get one more like Schenn, we will exit in the first round. IMO

I could see the Kings dominating the Capitals and I could also see them giving up three First period goals. Flip a coin.

Kings gave all us single folks a big **** you today. "Ha, you're forever alone and had no where to go so you watched all 60 minutes of this turd."

The game was so slow and boring my phone didn't bother to even tell me it was about to start, the Devils goal, or the final score.

I knew this was going to be a loss, so I'm glad I took my gf to brunch instead. It fulfilled 5 out of the 7 things that heavily factor into a loss for us.
