Tatar isn’t what he used to be and I’m glad we didn’t sign him to the same deal two years ago that he had his first two years here, which was like $4.5 million.

But he’s been fine this year. He probably has a pretty good points per 60. Not bad for a guy who plays 11 minutes.

He actually doesn't, he's scoring at a 4th line rate points-wise. But that's fine because he's holding up those lines by himself and nobody on his lines can score.

He'd be fine on next year's team at $1m or less.

You’re spot on. Every time I see it, it makes me ill. Gas station hat quality stuff.

The first time I decided to try pimento cheese was a number of years ago when we were driving to the beach in Florida. I purchased a sandwich of the stuff at a gas station when we stopped to fill up. The results were predictable. I have never again eaten pimento cheese.

Where's @SansaStark tonight?
Taking care of my kids solo last night bud. But thanks for tagging me. Glad you thought one good night against a mid team means they must be cup bound. But either way. Yes they played well. Now do it again. No actually even better, do it for a full season.
This game isn’t the flex you think it is. If they lose to the rags all this goodwill is completely erased. take a seat chica

On the road, 2nd game of a back to back, vs a team solidly in a playoff spot, pretty dominant performance.

Why downplay it with some hypothetical?

Because I’ve seen this pattern before.
I’m not buying it again. Been fooled too many times with this group.
They’ll need some kind of sustained high quality play for me to believe the ship has turned around.

I’m happy with the win. But it feels like empty calories at this point.

I think this win has even more significance given we are without so many key guys.

Gutsy effort led by a hat trick from the Captain. I'll revel in it for a couple days.

I get some of the negativity on this board is pretty much troll posting at this point.

But there is also a segment of real fans who have shown disdain for this team..

Seems odd given this team is solidly in a playoff spot.

There is a big difference between watching this team on tv and in person.

I was actually impressed with how hard Tatar skated and battled through pressure in person where I usually think he’s loafing it on tv. Palat was the complete opposite- he looked terrible in person skating wise.

Bratt pulls your eyes to him just with how fluid and quickly he adjusts moving around the ice away feom the play. Luke same thing and he has an extra 5’ of zone coverage with how well he skates.

Nico was just all around impressive. Dude does not deviate his attack if defenders are there he just tries to go through them and seems to welcome drawing an extra man so he can dish to someone else that is more open as a result.

Timo didn’t draw my eye for his skating but how much contact and disruption he caused away from the puck. He was constantly adjusting his helmet and picking it up after a skirmish. He’s a bull for real:

This is a playoff team but not a contender

To many missing pieces in Jack,Dougie and Siegs

However, if the big guns like hischier, timo and Bratt get hot in a playoff format they can do some damage.

Defense and goaltending is there (for the most part) all it takes is a hot stretch
Plus teams can’t push us around any more. We are much tougher physically than in prior years and better built for a grinding playoff series against Carolina or Florida.

I don't think they are cup bound at all. I will be happy if they play competitive in the 1st round of the playoffs and hopefully win a game or two.

But they played well last night on a back-to-back with travel and the game starting 22 hours after another.

That was one of Dumolin's best game as a Devil so far.

Had jump, made a nice keeping on the goal play, was strong in some tough battles. He is a little sneaky, has a good escape instinct.

He seems durable, got hit pretty good, twice in the game.
I still wished we got him for a 3rd round pick. We need those 2nd rounders. But he has been better than expected.

I don’t understand how we have 2-3 more games played than the majority of the conference and even the league. The Flyers are dead even in games played with us.

And it’s not the Prague thing. It hasn’t been that since the first week or two of the season. The Sabres still have 3 fewer games played than us.

It almost feels like we’ll be playing game 84 or 85 of the regular season by the time everybody else gets to 82.

Yea and we don’t play till Sat after our game agianst Minny on Monday. Seems odd. That break would have been helpful if Siegenthaler or Hamilton were alive lol.

But I guess it’s good because it seems like Glass and Luke are banged up.

Rest of the schedule looks fairly easy, apart of the Rangers game, which should be a must win hockey.

Canes are sporting some serious favorite odds in moneypuck.

Don't we already hold the tiebreaker over them since we have 5 of 6 available points?

2-0-1 vs 1-2-0

Even if we were to lose the final meeting we still have more points in the matchups which means we can still lose to them and in reality they are 9 points behind us.

Is Glass banged up? Not the baby thing?

I think the record without Jack is something like 6-6-1? Did I count that right. Just getting a point a game the last 7 gets us to 93 for the season.

And that's also with some really bad goaltending in some of those games, blowing leads and losing a point or two in the final minutes and even seconds in 3 of those games.

And in the final 7 games we won't be having to face teams like Dallas or Winnipeg twice and no more road trips. 6 of the 7 are at home.

Hischier, Bratt, and Luke playing great (aside from Luke going braindead a couple times a game). Devs matchup very well against the Wild (play style, size, physicality). Hopefully they pretty much lock it up with another W tomorrow.
