Good game boys. Well done. Nico is the best ever.
I laughed out loud at your Hire Berube signature (along with the memory of Ranger Doggo) and was confused because I thought maybe you just changed it to that recently and I never noticed it any time you've posted recently.

Then I realized this was an old signature which everybody's from March of 2024 were restored after the board crash this month. I even had my ''Travis Green blows! Bring back Nasreddine!'' signature back before having to change it.

Nico will probably go down as a fan favorite Devil all time. Similar to Elias. Really feels like a lifer / long tenured captain. Think he gets too much flack for not being a vocal leader when he’s never been that, but he’s been named captain of basically every team he’s been on including Switzerland at the WC multiple times. Obviously he carries respect.

Who took Elias' C away? I liked him as our Captain. Felt like needless drama.

Haha yup it's the old one. I'm torn whether to keep it as a token of going back in time or make a new one. Decisions decisions lol. Lmao wow Nas? That's going way back lmao.

I'd re-sign Tuna as a 4th liner. Team friendly contract. He's getting old and lost some skills. Still plays hard. Could play on the third line, in a pinch. Even up with Nico due to any injuries.

Definitely playing well as of late. Maybe he conserved his energy for this quarter of the season, looks like a new man who knew how to play. Shades of 2 years ago.

If our depth is still bad, I'd bite.

Good ol' Brent...that was his first move coming in. He wanted the North American boy as the captain, and there was this dumb school of thought that Elias 'struggled' with the C cause his numbers went down from 2004-05, never mind they were in a MUCH more defensive system under Julien that year too.

Brent Sutter

Awful head coach looking back on it.

Stripped Elias of the C on his way in the door, Went out as a sell out by playing Maddolfo like it was 2003 in the 2009 game 7 we should have won. Terribly coached game by him. Not sure why he fell into that trap after not really doing that during the 2 years he was head coach here.

It was one of those crossing the streams moments that turned out catastrophic.

Please lord no. Him and Haula are done . There is a reason why he always gets healthy scratched in the playoffs . He can’t play that style hockey . And his game really isn’t effective as a 4th liner IMO . Bottom 6 needs a total revamp. Cotter is about all you keep .

It's entirely possible we can make the playoffs going 1-6-0 the rest of the way, but I wouldn't wanna try and attempt it.

Just in case two teams behind us get hot enough to both hit 87 points. One of those teams behind us will probably hit 87 or maybe even 90 points. It's doubtful two different teams hit 90 points, but I could see two getting at least 87 or possibly 88 points with another getting 90 points.

So I would aim higher than that. Things will get way too close for comfort if we were to only get 87. They already seem close for comfort now despite the 8 point lead. It's actually 10 if the Rangers lose in regulation tonight.

We are now down to 32nd in remaining strength of schedule. Minnesota again on Monday are the only team comfortably in a playoff spot that we face in these last 7 games.

And despite it being a problem earlier in the year, we've done pretty well against the humpty teams since the break ended. Outside of Calgary last week (who did sweep the 3 area teams) and the shootout loss to Vancouver.

The only really horrible team we've lost to since Buffalo in the first week of February was Pittsburgh. We have one more against them.

We haven't done well against Boston in a very long time, but this is the worst they've been since before they started owning us and we blew them out on Jacques Lemaire ring of honor night, the only time we've faced them so far.

Our desperation level probably will have to do with what, if anything these teams do when they ever make up their games in hand. Strange we've literally had more games played than any team in the league pretty much all year.

Tatar was done two years ago, Fitz was right to walk away originally but the fact he re-signed him for the back end of that two-year deal he didn't want to give him reeked of desperation.

I don’t think that’s fair, personally. I agree that Fitz was right to move on from him when he did, but after struggling in Colorado, he bounced back nicely with Seattle and was his usual analytical darling self.

The reunion happened because, as Tatar said himself, he never wanted to leave and enjoyed his time here. Even if you want to say his one-year contract is somewhat rich, he still has use as a player despite his offense certainly being nowhere near what it once was.

Couple years out. 04-05 was the lockout year. Burns stepped down. RIP king.

Madden fired the puck at Julien in 06-07. Once Sutter took over, he tried to send a message to the locker room in Summer of '07 by stripping Elias of the captaincy.
