I kind of agree with what Dano was saying about how this tough nasty physical game is just what the doctor ordered for NJ.

We've been sleepwalking for a month, but they stepped up the intensity today and ran over a dominant team. I think this game could be a turning point if they can follow it up with another good performance at home.

Updated race to 90 points scenarios. Not clinching scenarios, I haven't calculated them yet.

2-4-1 the rest of the way gets us to 90.

Columbus have to go 7-3-1 the rest of the way to get to 90 points. Those numbers will have to be updated within the hour.

Rangers need to go 7-1-1 to get to 90. That number will also have to be updated by the end of the night.

Montreal need to go 7-3-0 the rest of the way to get to 90 points.

Islanders need to go 8-2-0 the rest of the way to get to 90 points.

Detroit need to go 9-1-0 the rest of the way to get to 90 points. And I'm only including them because it's still mathematically possible for them to reach 90 points.

I think 90 points is a safe bet to make the playoffs in the East this year, but the current wild card 2 based on points percentage (Columbus) are currently on pace for 87 points. Montreal currently on pace to finish with 85 points. Rangers and Islanders currently on pace to finish with 84 points.

87 COULD do it, but I think I'd feel definitely more comfortable hitting 90. It's highly unlikely more than one team behind us hits 90 points and it's somewhat unlikely any of them at all hit 90 points. And Columbus plays the Islanders one more time and the Rangers and Islanders play each other one time.

Truly a good vibes game tonight. Team was embarrassed yesterday and this was a real bounceback.
Bounce “back to back” - we haven’t won too many back to backs but this is a couple recently and after last night it was actually an advantage to get right back at it today.

Markstrom finding his game again is huge. I expect him to keep on it now and bring on the playoffs. The team seems to be jelling a bit on offense too post Jack. 10 goals between Chicago and this one.

Consistency has been this teams kryptonite. Roll Markstrom back out there next game
