I’m not optimistic about this game either. Probably going to be watching college hockey instead tonight, because Cornell is in the tournament.
Did I ever tell you about when I met Peter Tufford former Cornell captain and teammate of Ken Dryden in a Key West bar.

He was there with his family and I heard him say something about Cornell hockey in the late 1960's....I randomly blurted out did you know Ken Dryden...he goes I was his captain and we were elected in the Cornell Hall of Fame the same year.

I got him talking and he couldn't stop. I think it was 2 hours but it could've been more. I know I had 10 beers and he had 4 on my bill...

After he left the bartender goes "you know he comes in here once a week with his family and we never knew he was a hockey player and he never drinks....that is the first time I have ever seen him drink".

Pretty fun day. Wonderful man.

Perfetti sounds like party favors ....

Some noise makers, funny hats, some balloons, some glitter.. that's Perfetti

Perfetti yesterday and Rossi today, but hey we got Cotter.
At least Not Nemec isn't playing tonight for Minnesota. Out for the rest of the year with a lacerated spleen.

Speaking of Jiricek, hopefully we can get at the very least a first rounder for Nemec before he further tanks his value next like Jiricek seems like he's done.

I mean, they can defend relatively well. Scoring is their issue this year lmao

Game 1-39. 130 GF 98 GA +32
Game 40-74. 89 GF 99 GA -10

Propped up by the first half. Losing Siegs for 19 games and Hamilton for 11 since NYE is really hurting.

Losing Hughes is doomsday stuff. We are f***ed beyond belief without him.

I've mentioned this before but the shooting benders from Noesen, Nico and Cotter in the early part of the year also helped the offense a ton. You can't rely on elite shooting years like that to be consistent throughout the year. Guys cool down, Cotter and Noesen are good depth pieces and Nico is Nico but can't just rely on stuff like that to carry you throughout a year. We shat on the Rags for doing it for a decade only to rip their playbook for this season lol

I hear there’s a doctor who can fix that type of issue for them.

I believe his name is Yakob and he’s out of Gavle, Sweden.

We probably can’t afford to trade Dougie unless we’re getting back another defenseman who can score.

Not with this defense full of one way defensive, sub-20 point scoring guys that Fitz has built.

After Luke and Dougie it’s nothing but a bunch of modern day answers to Lou’s post-Nieds and especially post-Rafalski defenses.

Groin injury for Luke, maybe the coach shouldn't have played him like 25 minutes a night in the month of March.

Talk about a tale of two halves. Shit took a nose dive around New Year. Back breaking losses to Anaheim and San Jose (again!) were touted at the time as "good teams lose to bad teams all the time!!", but in reality it was the start of slippery slope.

If not for some Jack/Bratt heroics, we'd be well out of the playoffs by now.

Brutal.

I'm not gonna clown them that hard since they're going to do something that most Devils teams haven't since 11-12 which is making the playoffs but there were warning signs with them in October/November. December, we thought mostly they turned a corner because of their defensive prowess showing up. The Christmas break kinda trolled them since they were playing tremendous hockey before that, they did get bailed out by the 4Nations break so I guess that evens out. For the most part, I have complaints but this team still deserves a bit of credit granted the East has been putrid butt.

Hopefully they sit him. There's just no need to risk his health over this game.

Wildcard teams are shit. We have a little breathing room. Let him rest.

11 quid for a craft beer. f*** me dead.

I pay £4.50 for a pint of ale at my local football stadium (Southampton, Premier League).

I just had to google it, but most expensive pint in the Premier League is £6.50. In London. I genuinely think there would be riots if you tried to charge an englishman 11 quid for a beer.
